Some of the "sayins" below really take me down memory lane. I remember hearing them when I was a young girl and used to spend a lot ot time around adults...which I loved...

They are not meant to offend anyone...they're all just for fun...

Well patch my britches...
He was as mad as a mule eating sawbriars...
Upon my honor...
He could make a preacher cuss...
I"ll be dog...
The engine is running but nobody's behind the wheel...
Them ol scoundrels...
If brains was dynamite he would'nt have enough to blow his nose...
He's two bricks shy of a full load...
She's pert near done...
I'm stuck in your craw...
He could'nt carry a tune in a bucket....
He was busier than a one legged man at a butt kickin contest...
She's silly as a goose...
Trying to find that is like trying to find a needle in a haystack...
She just stuck her foot in her mouth...

And on a more serious note...

I just recently found this quote and it spoke volumes to me about our first president of the US...

"I'd rather be on my farm than emperor of the world"...
George Washington

Have a blessed and wonderful day...

Smiles...

My dad used to say "it's darker than 2 black cat's in a tow sack." My husband really got a kick out of my dad. Sadly, he passed away almost 7 years ago. Our first grandson was born 8 days after my dad passed. It was sad, but the new baby didn't allow us time to stay that way. My dad is in a better place now.

Wound tighter than an eight day clock

Just like shootin' fish in a barrel

When the wind blows in from the East, the weather's not fit for man nor beast

Busier than a one-armed paper hanger

She/He doesn't have the sense God gave a goose

Slower than molasses in January

Braver than a fox in a henhouse

Crooked as a dog's hind leg

Snug as a bug in a rug

A person is a success if they get up in the morning and get to bed at night and in between does what they want to do. Bob Dylan

I am envisioning some serious pillows to give to people! These sayings are so cute

My husband just reminded me of another funny old saying...

Busier than a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs...(really a good one)

Some of these remind me of Grandma!
