Posted - Apr 13 2006 : 3:04:43 PM Has anyone read "The Quilters" Women and Domestic Art, an oral history by Patricia Cooper and Norma Bradley Buferd? It's a wonderful account of women in Texas, their lives from childhood to old age and their quilts. It's full of heartwarming and bittersweet stories of women who led very hard lives with their quilting sometimes being what got them through it all. I first found it years ago at a library and then bought it for myself. I bring it out every now and then to get back to the reality of life and being strong to get through the bad times. It's well worth looking into. |
