Posted - May 05 2009 : 11:10:45 AM For everyone who enjoys Jennifer Chiaverini's books, here is another author to try. Persian Pickle Club is about a group of quilters during the depression in the dust bowl April's Tulips takes place during the Civil War And her latest is Prayers for Sale and is about an old woman and a young bride who become friends through quilting in a mining town in Colorado during the depression. Each of these books is a stand alone novel but some of her characters have a way of popping up in other books. Michele

Posted - May 14 2009 : 8:56:19 PM I loved Tallgrass too. I also just finished her book "Buster Midnight's Cafe". It was a really good one too. They have all been so good!

Posted - May 06 2009 : 8:23:57 PM She also wrote Tallgrass. It's probably my favorite after The Persian Pickle Club.
It's not about being perfect, but enjoying what you do. Set aside time to be creative.

Posted - May 05 2009 : 7:15:15 PM I have all of her older books...she even has one out called The Quilt that Walked to Golden-Women and Quilts in the Mountain West, from the overland trail to contemporary Colorado. It's an oversize book with lots of pictures well worth the expense....I can say that cause my mother-in-law gave it to me for Christmas! Check it out!
