Hi Farmgirl Sisters,

****11/19- Well I am home after the laser eye surgery and wanted to update y'all. It was really no big deal at all- felt like they snapped a rubber band on your eyeball- and then it was over. A little uncomfortable now, but no pain, and all should be fine tomorrow. I go back in 2 weeks for follow up, and then to schedule the other eye. Thank you all so very much for all of your kind thoughts and prayers- I can feel them, and I know that they brought me through this so easily. You are all just the BEST!
Hugs!

UPDATE-
*******I went to see the surgeon yesterday and he advised that I definately NEED to have this done or I risk having a glaucoma attack by 40% within the next 2 years. SO, I am scheduled to have my left eye done first on Monday, November 19th. If you can keep up the prayers I know it will help! Thank you all so very much for your kindness!********

I am asking for your good thoughts and prayers. I have been having issues with my eyes lately, which I mainly attributed to "being over 40 and just getting older". I finally went to the eye doctor tonight and was told that I have "narrow angels" which can lead to angle closure glaucoma. The doctor said that because I am only 46 (I liked the sound of the "only" 46..lol) that this is something that really needs to be addressed, with, more than likely laser surgery. He explained that the risk of having an attack increases by 40% every 2 years, so being that I am so "young" I am at a high risk for an attack.
I have another appointment in 2 weeks to see the surgeon to get his opinion. I am very apprehensive about having any type of surgery to my EYES, so your prayers would be appreciated.
I am definately going to get a second opinion before having anything done.
This is not an uncommon disease- its just that my "young" age puts me at a greater risk, This is more common in "older" (like 70-80) year olds.
Well at least I got a ego booster with the .."you are so young" for this shpeel from the doctor! Ha Ha.
Has anyone else had this, and if so did you go ahead with the laser surgery? DOes anyone have any opinions/thoughts/warnings etc?
Hugs,

~Laurie

Thanks Joey adn Portia. Other than a few hours of "uncomfortable" it was nothing at all. I go back next Monday 12/3 to get checked and then will schedule the other eye.
I really appreciate the prayers and well wishes!
Hope everyone is doing well.

I had laser surgery on both of my eyes do to retina bleeding. It was quick & painless and stopped the bleeding. I will always have clouds in my eyes but I would of been blind if they did not do it. Both eyes took about only 15 minutes. I will keep you in my prayers as I know how scary it is.

Laurie, I am sending prayers and hugs. Eyes are scary, I know, but they can do wonderful things with lasers now. I hope all goes well with you. Keep us posted. Joey

I'm praying for you Laurie. Technology in medicine is so advanced these days, I am sure that if you had to have a laser treatment that it would be safe. Although, I totally can understand how scary the prospect would be. Hang in there. We are all thinking of you.
