Lainey went in at 8:00 this morning for Pre-Op. They didn't start her actual surgery until 9:00. Even though she wasn't happy about being there this morning, her sweet Hubby said that the Drs called and said she is doing fine and should be done in about 2 hours. So that would around 2:30 Kentucky time :D
Please keep her and Hubby in prayers today!!

For those of you who aren't on facebook and may not have seen Lainey's latest post, I thought I would share it with you :D
I got to talk to her for a few minutes today and she didn't seem far from her normal self...HOORAY!! and she had the most exciting news to share!
This is what she wrote:
" Thanks everyone for your prayers and good thoughts during my surgery. Today I found out from the surgeon that they that got all the cancer, the nodes removed were cancer free! I'm on heavy meds and won't make a lot of sense, but I wanted you all to know how I was. It was a very rough surgery, 7 and hours long. They took all the esophagus and part of my stomach. I'll post more later on. God bless you all!"

Hey Girls!
I got an email today and Lainey is doing pretty good. The doctors have her sitting up and up walking around. She is a ton of pain, but obeying and getting up anyways. Keep those prayers for her going up, please! :D

I am so glad that Lainey is cancer free! Thank God!! Prayers do work and I have been praying for her and the other farmgirls that have been going through some rough times. Thanks for all of the updates Jessie! Please give her my love and tell her that I will keep praying for her!

Good morning everyone. I took some time off-line this weekend so I haven't checked in! Jessie, the updates have been INCREDIBLE..Thank you for your devotion. I'm keeping Lainey so close today and will send her some cards...Wow!! What an ordeal and she's now on the other side!!! Phew..Now she can focus on being CANCER FREE and healing!! love and light always!! ~Julia

Hi Girls,
I haven't heard anything new on Lainey as of today, but I sent her Hubby a message to see how things are going. I also sent him an email with the posts from this thread so that Lainey could see that she is on our hearts and in our prayers. I will let you all know as soon as I hear something new. :D

Hey Girls! I got an email from Lainey's husband this morning with great news! :D Lainey is finally in ICU and "up" watching the news!! lol..
Thank you all who are praying for her and sending her cards and notes of encouragement. She is doing great and I know she will be so happy to know her farmgirl sisters are behind her! :D

Jessie, These updates have been wonderful! Yhank you so much for sharing the good news with us. I have been praying for her all along. To hear they got all the cancer is best news yet. She must be so happy and relieved. I know she will be in pain and have to go through a long healing process, but, to know she is going to come through all this and be fine is what will give her the strength. Thank God!!!!

Hi Girls,
I heard from Fredrik earlier today and he said that Lainey was doing well and was able to come off of the respirator. She is waiting for a bed to open up in ICU as of 11:00 last night.
Sorry I haven't posted earlier today, I was out and just now able to get back to check my messages.
Keep the prayers headed her way. She is doing great and now for her big recovery!! :D

Jessie, you've done a bang up job keeping us all updated. Thank you very much. I've sent many prayers Lainey's way. It sounds like the hard part is behind her and now begins the long part-recovery.
I will email you to get her address to send her a card.
Thanks again for being such a special farmgirl sister to keep us in the "know" as much as possible.

Hi Kris,
I am not positive of the whole procedure. I have only heard bits and pieces from Fredrik and from Lainey ahead of time. I know that it was very invasive and extensive. They removed (but I dont know if they put back) her esophagus and then had to reattach her stomach to something...sorry I wish I knew exactly, but this is only what I have been getting a little at a time ;)
Her recovery period is 6 weeks. I believe all of that time she will be on a feeding tube. I do not know yet, when she will come home, but I am sure that it won't be soon enough for her!! :) She was very anxious about her recovery period.
The address I have for her is for home and know that she has animals and such, so I would imagine that her Hubby is going home to tend to them. He has time off during this time too, so he can be with her.

What a day for Lainey. I am so glad she made it through and is on the road to recovery. Thanks, Jessie, for all the updates on her. Do you know what all the doctors had to do for her?
And where would we send cards to, hospital or her home? Silly question. I guess her home and her hubby can bring them to her. Do they know how long she'll be in?
