this is a pic of me and my dh, country.
i know that you farmgirls have really gone the distance with prayers, emails and good thoughts for me, and i will be spending the rest of my life being greatful and trying to be a goodfarmgirl friend back.
in my life it has ALWAYS been a case of "when it rains, it pours", and so it seems with the cancer journey it will be the same.
as you may know i am right in the middle of chemo, after a double masectomy on jan 5 of this year.
now it seems that my dh will be evaluated for lung cancer and we will be meeting with his doctor on april 28th.
please keep us in your prayers and thoughts, and i will need extra prayers i am afraid to be strong enough to go throw this.
i have found out from my doc, that they believe as i have progressed that i should be able to drive myself to chemo and radiation. i have felt that was true, and i have driven myself once and all was well.
i dont really know much right now, and quite honestly i KNOW that i am in a bit of denial about all this.
much love to all who take the time to send a post.
my little heart refuses to be broken, but it does feel as though it has some cracks in it.

thanks again for all the post and thoughts and prayers.
i am gonna try and take my mind off this for a while, a little between the ears vacation if i can, and try to concentrate on some of the farm projects and also some of my crafts that have definitely gone by the wayside the last couple of months.

Frannie, I'm so glad the news was good. Hopefully he'll feel a lot better and more like himself after the surgery.

I am so glad to hear that things are progressing well, and I'm sure the surgery will help. It is just so hard to be hit with these things all at once. It was nice to see the bunnies again too...

Whew! I've been praying and praying--thought I might break a blood vessel there for a while. But with all our collective thoughts and prayers, and the light that shines on both you and Country, there is good news. So very happy for you both...now go have a drink. Or I will. Whew!

thanks so much for all the prayers and thoughts, and i am happy to say the visit to dallas went well.
we had 3 appointments at the dallas va, the 3rd largest facility in the va system my dh tells me.
we had countrys lung function checked out, 97-98%, which everyone was pleased with, and then we saw the doctor and he recommended surgery with no biopsy.
country was happy with that.. and so the surgery is scheduled for some time in july. they believe it is a slow growing cancer, cause they have been watching it for 3 years. but the doctor said even if it isnt cancer he wants it out of there, because eventually it will affect his lung function and then it will have to come out and could cause more problems.
so really unless they had said oops we made amistake there is no problem whatsoever, for us this was the best news we could have gotten under the circumstances.
thanks so much for all your continued prayers and support.

Hi Frannie,
I understand exhaustion is part of healing but I wonder if you could use some Iron, for stregnth (and oxygen). There is a product out there called "Herbal Iron" It is liquid and comes from all plant sources (which makes it really sweet ~taste wise, and super easy to absorb) It won't upset your belly or make you constipated. Most health food stores carry it, it's around 10 bucks a pint BUT SO WORTH IT. I am sure rest is nessesary but considering all your going through I think you could use some. When I was pregnant I was so anemic, I would wake from sleeping all night and fall asleep at the breakfast table (soooo tired). I started taking a tsp of Herbal Iron a day and within a day a huge differance.

So I am not a doctor, but your sleepyness makes me curious if some Iron might help.

Tons of love and good wishes your way.
love,
h
