My 12 year old GDs father died this morning from a massave heart attack. Today is her Birthday,we had hoped it would not happen on her birthday, but it did.
Our DD is divorced from him, but she was hysterical when she called to tell us,
Of course I had the GD with me taking her to the dr cause she is sick(upper respitory infection) so I had to tell her her father had died. I feel very sad for Payten and hope you all can keep her in your prayers and thoughts.
He was one of the best father I have seen for along time. they were very close
Thanks very much
Shirley

Praying for all of you tonight Shirley. Maybe when you can deal with the pain of the loss and the memories, planting a living tree Payten could go to talk to her dad when she is sad would help to deal with the sadness ? It helped me lots to have a living and growing memory of a dear one a long time ago.

Thank you everyone.
If you want to sent a card that would be nice. I think she would feel special . She felt so sick going to the dr , then after I told her about her father, she was just sobbing and said this was the worse BD she ever had. Just to much to put on a little 12 year old at one time.
please email me private cause I dont want to put my addy for the world to have.
Thanks again
Shirley

That's very sad--will be thinking about this little one. Gosh, I'm hoping that eventually, she can remember good things about him around her birthday.

So very sorry to hear this. I lost my own father when I was only twenty months old and so I know the pain of losing a parent. I like Mima's idea. Is there anything that we can do? Send her a card or a little treat of some sort? Is there anything special that she likes? Maybe we can all help to cheer her up a bit.
Take care and please let us know,
Marcy

Is there anything we farmgirls could do for her? A card or some little something to let her know how many people care? As a grandma myself-I know this must break your heart!!!!

My heart goes out to your granddaughter. It is terrible that she lost her Dad, but to have it happen on her birthday is just so sad. Her birthday will always have a bittersweet ring to it now. This will be a very hard time for her. I am so glad she has a loving Mom and Grandma to help her deal with this. It just breaks my heart to have chlildren lose their parents, it changes your life forever. God Bless her and all your family. The fact that he was such a wonderful Dad will always be with her.

I'm so sorry, Shirley. And on her birthday, too. Poor baby. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers, for sure. Keep holding her close.
