Marie is correct in that the number is the number of posts and and your "name" changes with the number, however after 500 you are a "True Blue Farmgirl". The "Farmgirl Legend", "Schoolmarm", etc. titles are related to earning badges.
The red hexagon indicates Sisterhood membership.

I, too, have always understood it to be related to the number of posts you have on the forum. More posts = more stars. They change color at certain "milestones", as does your farmgirl description. (i.e.- "Farmgirl in Training", "True Blue Farmgirl", etc.)

Some of the names have to do with earning badges. I don't have a clue about the color your name is written in ...

All I really understand is that the starts and colors have to do with the number of posts that you have....I saw mine change when I went over 1000...and I know that the name above the stars change too...I'm sure there is someone else out there can can tell you more about it than I can
