Posted - Jul 11 2011 : 3:47:49 PM I admit it. Every single picture I see of MJ her hair is BEAUTIFUL. I want to know what her hair regimen is. I've got long hair (Waist length) but it's definitely NOT thick and pretty like MJ's! I'd love to get some hair advice from her!

Posted - Aug 15 2011 : 4:58:19 PM I am a retired hairstylist working several days a week at The Education cenetr for new Stylist. The product we are so excited about is Morrocan Oil. It can be applied to wet hair and dried or to dry hair. Just a tiny amount will make your hair shine. smells wonderful, I have long hair and I shampoo every 3 days on day #2 I run a litle Morrocan Oil in and it makes it shine and smells wonderful, By day 3 It is pinned up for my last day at work. really, if you want your hair to be the best it can be. use only salon products. Now there are beaty supply stores all over the country that sells at a lower cost, if buying at the salon is not in your budget. In the long run,you use less and get better results.and for 20 years I have been ask the same thing, Yes store Brands have some fo the same ingredients, but a lot of fillers too, like Fragrance and silicones Etc. I had seen and used many salon Brands and you can't beat Nexus. They have a shampoo and conditoner for every type of hair. and true enough, Sometimes it is just in the Genes! But you can take the best care of the hair you have been blessed with! for those of you looking for easy upstyles, I will bring some pics home from the salon and post them on here.

Posted - Aug 15 2011 : 09:25:51 AM Hair, my personal trial in life! When I was little I was really sick and it kept falling out so I was pretty much bald until I was in school. My hair has always been thin and fine. My one saving grace is my natural curl, it makes it look like I've got more than I do!! As a child I'd wear a towel with a cowboy hat so that I'd have long hair. ALWAYS wanted long hair. I finally got it past my shoulders and then due to hormonal problems after having my daughter it all broke off and fell out and I had to cut it short again. *sigh* I still dream of beautiful long hair. I'm glad to say that my three year old daughter has hair to the middle of her back and although it's not super thick like my parents' hair it is a lot thicker than mine!! :)
Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories |

Posted - Aug 03 2011 : 6:25:27 PM Your hair is about the length of mine and I have mine in long layers. I use to have my first layer about chin level but couldn't braid my hair so I now have them do the first layer about 5" up from the bottom. Your looks great the way it is though so you might want to just leave it. My hair is so heavy that if I don't layer it the weight pulls any body straight out of it.

Posted - Aug 02 2011 : 04:01:08 AM Hannah,
I wish I could say that it would, but I'm a horrible hair person. Mine is naturally pretty curly, and I can't do layers-if I straighten it all the time it would look fine, but if I let it "go" natural, it looks like a hedge! Maybe try one layer and see how it looks? "

Posted - Aug 01 2011 : 7:03:07 PM That is so cool!! Here is a pic of my hair. The pic was taken a couple months ago but it looks pretty much the same, except it is alot longer now. I can't decide if I want to style it or not. Do you think it would look good layered?

Posted - Aug 01 2011 : 09:59:15 AM I know it's weird and I used to color my hair before I had kids but this shampoo brings out the natural color of my hair. I think they say it is supposed to enhance color, I wonder if anyone has told them it enhances your natural hair color too. Maybe they just figure everyone colors their hair so that is who they should be speaking to. Who knows! I think the sunscreen Mom and I use, Juice Beauty, makes a good-for-you-and-the-environment hair color, if you are a color-your-hair kinda gal.

Posted - Jul 28 2011 : 08:45:30 AM Hey MaryJane . . how about some petals from those beautiful peony flowers you have there? You DO have beautiful hair! But you are a BEAUTIFUL woman, which I know comes from your heart!
I love your response! Being a farmgirl there are all sorts of possibilities for "leave-ins" in our hair. I know what happens to mine when I'm out working outside.
I do use Biolage Daily Leave-In Tonic, which is a pump spray that I like to "perk" up my hair when I've been out in the sun, wind and such.
Sooooooo thrilled and privileged to have shared some time with you recently at the farm. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! CJ

Posted - Jul 28 2011 : 07:56:12 AM ??????? Just curious, what's a "leave-in?" Dried leaves, pine pitch?
When I showed up the first time to meet people at Random House, one of the guys said to me as he shook my hand, "I expected you to have dried leaves in your hair."
So many THANKS for all your compliments!!!!

Posted - Jul 28 2011 : 07:52:04 AM I would love to see some instructions in a future MJF magazine for simple, feminine Farmgirl up-do's. I am so uncoordinated when it comes to putting my hair up...it usually just ends up in a ponytail.

Posted - Jul 27 2011 : 06:00:23 AM MaryJane and Meg are both so beautiful! When I met MaryJane, I thought her complexion was amazing! When I asked her about it, she gave me the same answer...organic food. I have to say that after going organic, our skin and hair woes have gone away. I'm going to look for that shampoo and conditioner next time we are out of what we have.

Posted - Jul 25 2011 : 10:16:32 AM Ace is right, it really does have a lot to do with her diet. Good oils, nutrients, etc. A secret from her daughter, she does use Pureology Shampoo and Conditioner. It is a bit $ but it takes half as much for each wash and condition. I started using it when I quit coloring my hair just before I started having kids and it keeps my hair really shiny. But again, it does have more to do with diet then we think. And genetics too.
