Would it be possible to plan a farmgirl weekend at the farm sometime in August?? We could all share the cost of renting out the tents and meet each other? Would that not be the funnest weekend ever!! We could all sit around the fire at night and share our stories!! Of course-Maryjane and Meg would HAVE to join us! Could this fantasy become a reality??? I'm all about saving my money for plane fare!!!Love you guys!

Ack! I missed it! How did I miss it?! Oh well, life and stuff happened, and I got sidetracked.

Well, maybe there could be another gathering some time in the coming months, after August, and, of course, at MaryJane's choosing?

Hi Rene!

I am just posting because I know that the Farm is really busy this week and MaryJane probably won't have time to reply for a while-

Unfortunately, Day-Trippers still aren't going to be allowed as there are liability issues relating to having volunteers on the grounds, as well as there is just a problem with not having a big enough space to get everyone undercover if the weather turns foul- which with this spring it is getting more an more likely that we might need cover!

I know this was a hard decision to for the farm to make- as no one out there likes to exclude anyone from good old farmgirl fun. Thanks so much for understanding! And I am hopeful that maybe next year we can all gather at the Old Mill in Oaksdale.

MaryJane and Frannie,
I read in the thread no day- trippers....:(.....Even if we offered to come and work for the day (sat)... I am sure there will be lots to do to insure all runs smoothly ( you know run get that, oh we need this) and what a great oppertunity to meet everyone.. Sounds like Annika would be up for that too....We wouldnt be day-trippers just.............'em.........."free labor". :)

Hey ladies! Its getting close now! Woo-Hoo!!! Just wondering if you, MaryJane, have decided yet on a cost for the weekend? And if we should be putting together our food orders yet, and what we should be bringing and stuff like that. We are getting excited!

Hey Brenda,
I think a "Sewing Circle" or should I say "Finish a project Circle" would be fun....
Problem is,,,,I must have hundreds of 'unfinished' projects, sewing, crocheting, cross stitich, card crafting etc... you name it, and I probably have it laying around unfinished!!!
I still have not picked up my "pottery" at the Polkadot Studio,,,go figure!!!! Who knows, by the time I get around to picking it up, it just might be a "collectable" lol!
(Hope DH is feeling better)

Ron is off on Friday, May 2nd, so he will drive our fifth wheel down that morning and then will come pick me up on Sunday. I can't wait! The next week is Jr. Livestock Show, which we stay at the Fairgrounds for, so it will be lots of living in the fifth wheel. That's okay . . . it keeps the house clean when we are gone! LOL! I am disappointed in Frannie can't come, as I love her dolls . . . plus I am dying to meet her, but I think we can all manage to still have lots of fun. I will bring my sewing machine and several projects. As a true farmgirl, I have more projects that I will ever finish in this life time! LOL!

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

Yes, yes, yes Aunt Em. We're still on for our Gala in May even if Frannie can't make it. There will be plenty of activities to keep us (farmerettes and farmgirls) from lollygagging the day away. See soon!!!!!!

Amanda .. i put in a call last night AND today! she SWEARS she has an appointment for NEXT WEEK. I've tried to let her be her own adult .. but .. decided that i would 'be on' any friend who had a suspicious mam and did not go back to find out about it .. SO I DID!!! (She says she has another spot under her arm (not the armpit) .. sun damage .. that she has to have biopsied too! AND .. she is taking cortizone shots for an achy back! she still does not know if her 'man' is 'out of dangerous waters' yet!

i'm heading for a gurlfren get-away tomorrow! OHIO ... (had my buttinski) test today and i am all fit and fiddle in that department! LORDY! those are TURRIBLE to go through ... i was laughing and joking with the nurses and mentioned that i was jus' pretending i was at an elite SPA in the South of France (and THIS .. as i bobbled with my my 'water bottle' connected by a tube to my hand .. and my hiney hangin' out of the paper gown they give you to wear!

BUT ALL IS WELL .. sooo .. it surely was worth jus' finding out that i have a 'healthy hiney'!

gittin' old's a bi-otch sometimes!

auntie em .. i'm thinking that with maryjane's wonderful local resources .. she will, indeed, be able to conjure up a class of some sort if all these family matters keeps me here at that time. i will soooooooooooooooo HATE miss meeting all you gurlfrenz though!! xoxo

MaryJane, if you're around in the next couple days, can you give us official word as to whether the farmgirls weekend will go on if Frannie can't come? I know you are super busy right around the time we are planning this, and I sure don't want to be making your life even more hectic! I know we are all looking forward to it, but I'm sure none of us want to be a burden on you either. Any scoop you could give us would be great! Thanks so much for all you do for us MaryJane!

Sorry, I missed the part where MaryJane said no day trippers. I understand. That would probably end up being crazy and packed and poor MJ and her family would be run ragged, which I wouldn't want to be part of. I just still want to meet so many of you. Hopefully one day I'll get to

Was there/is there to still be some sort of thing at the old mill? is that farm fair? I've never been, so I'm confused. Is there a gathering of some sort? I'd love to come up and meet who ever is there. All of you are nearly family to me. I live close by, is there a possibility of me coming up to the May gathering?

Frannie *hug* I hope that your daughter is ok, I'm worried too and sending lots of good energy and well wishes

Frannie-

I hope she is okay, but _of course_ family First!!! Okay, so us farmgirls are all family, but flesh and blood family first even before farmgirl family! :D If you can't make it, I am sure we will all be a tad disappointed, but we can always schedule another gathering if need be! You are so dear to be thinking of us when you must be worried sick about your daughter! *hugs* We are all thinking good thoughts for you both, I am sure!

Melissa-
Welcome to the forums! Farm fair is usually in July but I believe there will be a family wedding there instead this year. Some of the gals will have a farmgirl weekend at the farm in May and I do think that all the tents were full at last count.
