I lucked into 4 of those fabulous metal chairs you might remember from grandma's back yard -- the kind with arms, a waffle pattern cut into the backs and seats, and bounce when you bounce on them :-) They need refinishing but are otherwise in fabulous condition. If I had the time, which I don't, I would dip them to remove old paint, and sand off the rusty bits (or use a little $3 wire brush-type bit on my drill, as seen in MaryJanes current magazine for cleaning up used cast-iron cookware). If I had the money (which I also don't). I'd take them to a good-ol'-boy auto paint place that would work with me to give them a sturdy, gorgeous enamel finish in a retro combo like aqua (or cherry red!) with ivory, yellow with white. You could choose whatever you remember most fondly from your childhood. Alternately, I guess you could do it yourself with enamel spray paints.

They're too big to mail, so this would be a pick-'em-up affair, or I could drive them to you in my pickup truck if you're not too far away. (I'm in Fauquier County, VA, near Warrenton).

I would like $100 for all 4. $110 if I deliver.

Thanks for your consideration :-)

Michele, that's perfect! I really wish I could afford to restore these and use them. They bring back glorious memories.

I'd love them, too but I'm up in Michigan and don't thing I'll be in Virginia any time soon

Oh no you don't! You will NOT tempt me to go out there! I'll bet I'd never want to come back ;-)
