Wouldn't it be fun to have a small "Farmer's Market" for us to sell and trade to each other? I wonder about making a weekend thing of it- lots of food, horseback riding, tables set up for trading/selling crafts and food, all kinds of handmade items...just thinking. What do you think?

This sounds like so much fun. My season is going like gangbusters in the summer between all my farmers markets and apprentices, but it sure would be nice to be able to squeeze out some time for fun. Fun...what a concept!!!

I live over on the west side, but I take my apprentices over the mountains to your side in June to learn about the plants there for 2 days. Not a weekend, though.

I woke up on January 1st and it was 2009.
And it's been that way ever since!

Oh, a road trip.... I wanna come too.. I have a few friends in Washington who I might be able to entice to come . A good way to introduce them to see "farmgirl stuff". One does a lot of crafts too.. I think she may be interested.. going to call her tonight.

Never...but that would be SO fun!
Also, I was thinking...I went to a great thing in New Mexico one year. There were tables wth vendors in the park, music, performers, and people scattered all over the grass demonstrating fiber art, etc. and I know we have a fiber person or two aroud...who wants to demonstrate spinning, weaving, knitting, etc??

My daughter was about 10 at the time and sat all afternoon with the fiber ladies and learned to knit- they even gave her a set of needles and yarn...we were on a month long road trip and she knitted for weeks in the back seat! She still knits to this day *U* Those gals were even knitting sweaters out of a Golden Retriever's fur...kinda gross, but hey- creative!

Prosser farmers market runs from 8-12 on sat. So we could do some sort of round up here on Sat Am. or even Friday night/Sat Morning.. then head to Yakima Sat afternoon for a sat evening farmgirl market and hoedown....

Not sure about how far from Cheney...Prosser is an hour from me, and that is just an idea, we may not want to do that...as for sleeping arrangements there's always room for a farm girl in the house *U*

Don't have an RV (although I would love one) no tenting for me anymore, not sure I could get off the ground once I got down. I use to love it but too old now. Once I know more, I can find somewhere to stay.

We have so many talented women here, I know that they would love to show off what they do and are up to. Also we just started two new chapters in the tri cities area, and those gals are amazing as well; so I will pass the info on to them too.
