Wouldn't it be fun to have a small "Farmer's Market" for us to sell and trade to each other? I wonder about making a weekend thing of it- lots of food, horseback riding, tables set up for trading/selling crafts and food, all kinds of handmade items...just thinking. What do you think?

I like this too. I am just sitting here looking at all my crafts that I didn't get to show at a local craft show because of the weather. I am willing to give it a go. With the BBB in July, June sounds good to me. What part of Central Wa are we talking about? I am in Cheney and would not want to go too far. Jamie in Malden might want to come? And what about Flight Fancy in Rosalia? She did a show there this fall and would know others who might like to join in. Is this for farmgals only? Some at her show might not be farmgals.

I'm in Yakima, and Renee is in Prosser, about an hour away. I'm thinking an outdoor market, set up tents, bring your camper, RV, whatever and sleeping bags in the house. I stll need to talk to Renee and get help with this idea. She has a larger group, and a Farmer's Market...but if we stayed at my house, and carpooled to Prosser...? Just "thinkin' out loud" as of yet. My house we cook BBQ and horseback ride, make a campfire, etc. I won't limit it to just Farm Girls, but I think once people get to know the farmgirls they'll want to join or start their own chapter *U*

This does sound like fun, Dalyn. I went to a sheepdog trial one year with my Tess in Prosser. It was so hot she and I almost melted. I don't remember what month it was but it was summer. We can get Rene's input on weather predictions for Prosser for June.
I'll stay tuned.

I am in.... Remember we have a huge event in July..... (2009 farm fair)... July 3,4,5 So I will be BUSY< BUSY,BUSY.. and I dont want gals to come to this and NOT make it to farmfair.. ( you wont want to miss farmfair), for a lot of reasons, you truly wont want to miss it. But I know that the Prosserfarmchicks will want to participate and to make this thier June "event".. SO count us in.

okay Renee, we'll make it it a pretty simple affair for your chapter and mine plus whoever comes as the June meetin? Can we set up tables for selling/trading/bartering, etc. and make it a Saturday event at my place with anyone who wants spending the night Fri. and or Sat.? We'll fit in horseback riding and have BBQ/potluck lunch? Some enterprising person can sell snacks and baked goods at a table...lemonade...who else can help besides Renee who is going to be busy?

We can do whatever works for you. I love the idea of having "farmgirls" come to the prosser farmers market, too. as we have so much fun there and we are already so supported by the community there.....I have a contact for you from Prosser who will work with you she is brilliant and you will love her her name is Terra.. she is my right and left arm here. If we have a camp out.. we can help the gals earn a badge too.. for that.....we can also give gals oppertunity to share what they are "up to" to help them compete badges... ( there is usually a componet that says "share with others". WE WILL SUPPORT YOU 1000% SO YOU PLAN and we will do whatever you want/need to make it a smashing success...What a perfect idea, dalyn.. thanks!!!!

this sounds great gals, i would love to come. Will talk to our mini chapter too and see if they are interested. gonna have to talk grandma into visiting for the weekend to distract the kiddos. hopefully i can sneek away from the baby but i am not sure as it would be the first time. now to start brainstorming for crafts to make

We have so many talented women here, I know that they would love to show off what they do and are up to. Also we just started two new chapters in the tri cities area, and those gals are amazing as well; so I will pass the info on to them too.

Don't have an RV (although I would love one) no tenting for me anymore, not sure I could get off the ground once I got down. I use to love it but too old now. Once I know more, I can find somewhere to stay.
