Posted - Aug 17 2010 : 11:14:14 PM Oh girls, I hate hot weather and most of the country is experiencing it this summer. Ugh! Texas is always in the 100s. My son and dil live in Austin. But we've had a lot of rain and hot weather. Well of State Fair starts soon and autumn can't be far behind. I hope. Bonnie

Posted - Aug 17 2010 : 9:12:41 PM Ugh! Sorry for you SusanScarlet. We finally had a few days of normal temps out here on the Front Range. Beautiful weather! Supposed to be hot again tomorrow though. Sigh!
Yea, Fall is one of my favorite seasons too. Hasn't seemed to last very long these past few years. Maybe this year will be different, eh? Smiles! Carla

Posted - Aug 17 2010 : 6:28:20 PM Here in west Texas we're on our 17th day in a row of over 100 degrees. We're breaking records for our area. It's hot ! |

Posted - Aug 13 2010 : 05:07:11 AM Even though it felt a little steamy yesterday because we had rain it was actually cooler in temperature. It is still rainy here,on and off, but is also a little bit cooler. Autumn is my favorite season but the nice weather never seems to last long enough. Oh well, we seem to complain when it is hot, when it is cold, when it rains and when it doesn't. Boy are we hard to please or what??? LOL!!

Posted - Aug 12 2010 : 8:44:00 PM Isn't it funny how we always want to move ahead. I love fall, but after this last winter I'm enjoying the warm air at night and I refuse to complain about the heat. Mpnsoons are here now, so it's a little easier on us. The clouds seem to come in during the middle of the day when it gets the hottest. The Weather Guessers claim that it is going to be 10 degrees cooler tomorrow and the day after. That would be great! My Aunt is coming for a visit, and it would be nice to take her around without breaking out in a sweat from walking! Smiles! Carla

Posted - Aug 12 2010 : 8:21:14 PM It's 10:00 here tonight and the hear index is still 102. I gave up on my garden until fall. I am going to try some cold frames this year. I remember how I was so excited for spring to get here after this last winter. Now, I am dreaming of cooler air.

Posted - Aug 08 2010 : 1:45:30 PM Thankfully, it is starting to cool down 90-95 here lately. we are lacking rain though. No drought bans yet. I am surprised at the heat and lack of rain. Normally, we swear we are going to float away. It sure isn't making things easy for the farmers. All of the corn fields look like they are going to be nothing but hay. I hope it means a mild winter! :) hugs Jessie

Posted - Aug 08 2010 : 06:41:29 AM Typical Oklahoma summer weather here. In the 100's every day for 2 weeks and no relief in sight. The humidity is so bad, that all you have to do is walk outside and feel like you're melting. Some of our trees are losing their leaves already due to heat and lack of rain. Of course, we've been baling hay and still have more to go. I think we have drank 4 gallons of water each, every day.

Posted - Aug 07 2010 : 1:45:52 PM Weird weather here in upper Colorado too. Western Slope has had above average teps for WEEKS now. During the coolest part of the day a couple of weeks ago it was 17 degrees above normal! It's not supposed to be in the 70 at 6AM! Over here on the Front Range it is in the upper 90's and HUMID. Monsoon storms gather and threaten in the afternoon but only leave a few sprinkles, so I am sweltering [they don't even have swamp coolers in these old houses here. They usually don't have to deal with these exstream temps. Yikes!] Smiles! Carla

Posted - Aug 06 2010 : 09:54:11 AM I know how you feel we get the real hot weather here and just a small swamp cooler and our winters just a wood stove. Don't you wish you could bottle the cold of winter to bring out on those hot summer days and nights. Try not to move around to much.

Posted - Aug 04 2010 : 8:10:50 PM Went to feed the horses today and it was 97, 111 real feel temp and 85 percent humidity. The farmers almanac said the summer here this year would be "sweltering". Guess they got that right.

Posted - Jul 08 2010 : 4:57:34 PM We have fans and thankfully a/c though I think it needs a new filter. The part that gets us is keeping the kids cooped up inside all day and then when we do have to go outside, the children are like camels..hehe trying to keep everyone hydrated and happy ;) hugs Jessie
