Posted - May 08 2007 : 3:39:40 PM Julie, what you are telling me is that I may be busier! Oh boy! Even though we will miss Adam, my husband and I are sort of looking forward to some 'us' time even if it is falling asleep in front of the TV! We had only known each other 2 days when we decied to marry (1987) and actually married 3 weeks later. Adam came along 2 years later so we really have not had much time just as a couple. Angie (Hey, what part of WNY are you from?)

Posted - May 08 2007 : 05:18:54 AM Hi Angie, Wow, you sound like me around ten years ago. Son (he's my youngest) doing his Eagle Scout, graduating, etc. Except he attended college locally, so he stayed home. A very busy time indeed. I always thought that when my children were grown that my life would calm down a bit. Guess what? It doesn't! Other things and happily more family members added bring a different kind of "busyness." I have a daughter, married with three children and my son has a lovely girlfriend. Well, have a wonderful Mother's Day - sounds like you have a beautiful day planned. Look forward to hearing about Mackenzie Childs. I don't even know where it is, but sounds great! Julie |

Posted - May 08 2007 : 02:57:42 AM Julie, thanks for the tip. I am looking forward to checking out a new area, I always end up in the same old spots and forget to 'push the envelope' I should probably be working out in the garden but this is a special Mother's Day out with my mom in law and sister in law, so I am going to take the opportunity while I can! Things have been so crazy around here! I have a son who is graduating from high school in a few weeks, needs to take his driving test, finish his Boy Scout Eagle project, go to the prom, find a summer job AND we are now plowing through the process of financial aid for college! I am torn between wanting it all over and done and then guilty because he will be leaving home in August!So....a day out is needed! I will let you know what treasures I un-earth on my Mom's Day out!

Posted - May 03 2007 : 6:52:59 PM Hi Angie, I just noticed that you said you are going to Mackenzie Childs. I thought you might like to know that there is another store in East Aurora that carries Mackenzie Childs merchandise. It's called "The Cottage". It's on Main St. I think you'd love it. Julie |

Posted - May 03 2007 : 6:47:19 PM Hello again, Yes, Vidler's really is amazing. I've lived in WNY my whole life and in East Aurora since I was 8 years old! I feel so fortunate to live here. I can't imagine living anywhere else. What is everyone up to these days? Right now, I'm trying to get the yard in shape, what a job! But I'm so glad to be working outside. I think I'll get some pretty annuals in pots to put on my front and side steps. I have a lot of beautiful bulbs and perennials in my flower beds. I love Spring! Julie |

Posted - May 03 2007 : 4:51:54 PM You guys are great! This is beginning to sound like a gathering in the making! For en ex-Brit.Chick this is very cool. I thought I was the only person who just loves her hot water bottle! Now I know where to get a 'real" one! Anyone been to Mackenzie Childs? I am going for Mother's Day and am really looking forward to it. Angie.

Posted - May 03 2007 : 4:10:06 PM I'm up for a Western/Central New York Farmgirls gathering this summer - that would be a great time! (And I'm always runnning to Vidler's for those hard-to-find little things. Just the other week I stopped in because I've been looking for an "old-fashioned" hot water bottle, and of course they had it there! And the Vidler brothers are almost always in the store - aren't they a hoot? ;-) |

Posted - May 03 2007 : 1:55:59 PM Welcome, Angie! I'm a transplant (1995) from the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area. You're the first one I've seen here that is from my old home. I just learned something new: I didn't know Bonnie and Kelly were transplants from WNY too! You're going to love this forum. Everyone is so helpful and friendly.

Posted - May 02 2007 : 4:18:09 PM I have been in NY for almost 20 years. Boy, time flys. I remember landing at JFK for the first time at only 20 years old! MT Pleasant....let's just say I have to 'plan' those trips! I have taken a couple of classes there and think that I have signed up for 2 more this year! I am hoping they will remind me when it is close!! You know, I have not stopped into the new places in Avon yet either. Never enough hours in the day and we are pretty busy right now with a senior getting ready to graduate! AGHHH! (sorry, that was shouting wasn't it!)

Have you been to Mt. Pleasant Quilting Co in the York/Piffard area? That's where I have taken several classes, I really like it there. There are a couple of new shops in Avon I haven't gotten to yet.
