Posted - Sep 26 2013 : 09:22:00 AM Hey there, everyone!
I've been getting into homesteading in my little suburban backyard for a few years now. Looking towards getting chickens next year.
I'm a new subscriber to Farmgirl. Wish I had found it ages ago! Love the magazine...especially the idea of Glamping!
Looking forward to learning from you all! Thanks so much!

Posted - Oct 01 2013 : 11:38:28 AM Hi Heather and welcome to MJF's! How lucky that you can have chickens in your suburban area. My city has strict rules and my tiny lot isn't big enough. We had chickens when I was a kid and while it was hard work it was also fun. I had a pet chicken who was just the sweetest little thing. She was a little barred hen and of course I named her Henny Penny. She liked nothing better than to sit in my lap for her scratches and would take a nap there. Have fun here and I know you'll find lots of good info and new friends! Enjoy!
