Hello Ladies (and Gents?),
I just thought I would introduce myself a bit. My name is Brooke, I am a 27 y.o. mom, proprietress, fiber artist and herbalist...who in 2 months is moving back to the metropolis of Puryear, Tennessee to live on the family "farm" (170 acres of mostly woods, with a few fields and a huge old barn I need to get back into shape!).
I am hoping to raise a few sheep and goats and chickens and then turn a field into an organic herb farm. I love knitting, spinning, (am wanting to learn how to weave) antiques, literature, old old things, sewing, baking, getting lost, antique home ec books...
And am hoping to connect with amazing women who have gone before me in this type of adventure, and those who are beginning their journey just like me! And if you are in the NW corner of TN/SW KY...we'll have to get a Farmgirl chapter going!

Welcome, Brooke! It sounds like you are in for a big adventure! I can't wait to hear all about moving back to the family farm - that's what I did about 8 years ago, and I don't regret it for one second!!! I think you'll love it - Enjoy!!!

XOXO, Libbie

Brooke - I love the phrase you used - that you love getting lost. That is the ultimate adventure, whether it be in your neighborhood or in the world at large. The desire to get lost and love it is a great gift. Welcome!

Peace

Welcome Brooke. I wish I had any barn to fix up. I didn't know a thing about herbs until this spring when I worked at a greenhouse part time. Now I have my own little herb garden. I still don't know what to do with everything but I am learning. Look forward to hearing more from you.

Nice to meet you, Brooke! You have found the right spot for words of wisdom, shoulders to cry on, and encouraging words to help you through the worst. I know what you mean, Jenny - I wish I had ANY barn to fix up!!
