Posted - Jul 28 2010 : 9:53:53 PM Hi Becky! I'm not too far from you either. Welcome! The family farm we'll be moving to used to be an apple orchard and many of the trees still remain. There is a beekeeper that brings his bees in over the spring and summer. They really go to town on the apple nectar. I love the fresh honey he gives the family. I definitely want to learn more about it.
Siobhan- Don't forget to count me in too! By the way, I'm heading your way to the yarn shop in the am! I got a new loom and want to get some inspiration.
Becky- You'll really like it here. The ladies are so nice. I look forward to getting to know you.
Smiles, Angie

Posted - Jul 24 2010 : 10:03:40 AM HI Kris! I have four hives. It is so interesting watching the bee colony grow. They are really taking off this month we are adding second supers this weekend. If you want a great movie or book introducing the life of bees -"The Secret life of bees"by Sue Monk Kidd is what inspired my new hobby. |

Posted - Jul 24 2010 : 09:54:07 AM Hi Becky. Welcome from Georgia. How many hives do you have? I was just at the farmer's market and found out someone out here near me has about 25 hives now. No wonder I haven't seen any here. They are all there.
