Posted - Nov 11 2008 : 09:19:14 AM Hi everyone!! I am so glad I starting getting MaryJanes magazine and came to her website. It is nice to be able to chat with other women who have the same interests and lifestyles!! We moved to our place almost one year ago. We had built a garage when we first got the property. Well.... we sold our house in December and moved into the garage. Due to the economy we are staying put in our "house" now until whenever. We want to get our farm established a bit so we can stay home and do that. We had a nice size garden this year and got another garage/shed built just very recently. In the spring we plan on getting some chickens going and then will start in on beef. Rae

Posted - Jan 09 2009 : 3:34:20 PM Sorry Rae forgot to answer your question. We love it here. We still wanted to live in a place that had four season but wanted the winter season to be a little shorter: ) We are very snowy here this year (great cross country skiing) but the temps on average are milder. But what I didn't bargain on and what is wonderful is there is no humidity here during the summer! It will get hot but cools off wonderfully in the evening. I miss the loons though. Here there are very few. Don't have the 10,000 lakes. We did manage to find recreational property that is walking distance to a mountain lake full of panfish. Thought we would have to forgo that when we moved here. Have to have my beer battered fish: ) Hi to Vicki also. Posted - Jan 09 2009 : 2:51:39 PM Hi Rae from a fellow Minnesotan. I live in Sandstone during the week for my job, and then go home to the farm in Popple Creek on weekends and holidays. Can't wait til I can find a job closer to the farm so I can be there all the time. Good luck with your farm... they are alot of work but, oh, so worth it!! ~Vicky~
