Posted - Jun 05 2008 : 5:53:23 PM I have been on farmgirl connection for about a week but I figured I would take a moment to officially introduce myself. I am from a very small town in Arizona. I am originally from Ohio and I have to say I really miss grass. I also miss growing up with a big garden and an apple orchard . I have 3 kids, Isaiah is 6, Hannah is 4 and Olivia is 3. In my non-existent spare time I love to bake from scratch and I also paint, sew, do tatting, knit etc. I have already made laundry soap and I am going to have to figure out how to clean faster so I might have a little more time on Farmgirl Connection. I really love you guys!!!! |

Posted - Jun 20 2008 : 1:51:02 PM Anne, We will have to keep in touch for sure! It would be so fun to meet both of you . Maryjane told me about flylady.com and it has been a blessing. I would definitely not come now as it is starting to really heat up!!! For this area it's still not too bad if you are used to it! I hope it's cooler where you are at!! Love,Monica |

Posted - Jun 19 2008 : 7:58:21 PM Monica I will keep that in mind to meet you the next time we go to Oatman. I have a vacation home on the Colorado River in Parker and we like to bring friends up to Oatman to see this cute little town. The drive from Parker to Oatman is not bad. In fact, Maryjane Lee that has posted on this post is one of my best friends and I kept telling her one time when we go to the river together I want to take a trip to Oatman because she has never seen it. That would be nice for you to meet both of us! I usually like to go between October to April because its so darn hot any other time! You can always get ahold of me on my blog. Love, Ann

Posted - Jun 19 2008 : 09:16:02 AM Kate, I tried the Turtle Wax and it works nicely. It seems to help keep the water spots down and we have such hard water where I live that it is nice not to have to scrub so much for the sink to look nice. Once again thanks for the tip. monica |

Posted - Jun 17 2008 : 11:46:07 PM Hi Monica, I noticed you are from Oatman, Arizona. I love Oatman! I have visited your small cute little town a couple of times. I especially like all the donkeys walking around the streets and the cute cowboy show that the locals put on, and oh, the old diner on the main street (I think the only street) it has great food! Well, welcome, you will find all the ladies are so friendly and very helpful!

Posted - Jun 13 2008 : 9:00:47 PM Molly, it's nice to know I have company in the heat, but at least it has not been too hot so far this summer!!! I remember when we first moved to Arizona in 2002 that it was still so very hot in October and I was almost in tears wondering if it ever cooled down!! |

Posted - Jun 13 2008 : 5:23:57 PM Kate, this is so cool that someone actually knows where Oatman is!!! And yes there are plenty of burros to feed, in fact my kids were feeding them carrots in my front yard this morning!! It is nice here and there are a lot of nice people, but I have to confess being from Ohio, I still really miss grass!!! I have some Turtle Wax so I will have to try that tonight. I usually use baking soda to clean it. I will let you know how it works!
Thanks,Monica |

Posted - Jun 12 2008 : 6:26:48 PM Monica, Here's something you might want to try. I use Turtle Wax in my sinks. Just clean and dry the sink.....and apply the turtle wax just like you would on your car. Let it dry and buff it out. It will repel stains for quite a while. I use it about once a month. Most liquids just bead up and run down the drain. Try it and let me know what you think.

Posted - Jun 12 2008 : 11:20:59 AM Maryjane, thanks for the info. I usually do a quick reply and the faces are not on there but as you can see I found them. I have to say that my sink was nice and shiny when I went to bed!! I must confess though that I was quite miffed with my husband in the morning thoughbecause he had dumped out the last of his hot tea in the sink and it left a bit of stain on my shiny sink!!! He was already off to work when I got up, so I will have to talk to him when he gets home Well I have gotten dressed and now I am off to clean up my kitchen in 30 minutes!!!! I may actually get to sew today!!! Thanks a bunch!!!

Posted - Jun 12 2008 : 09:21:04 AM Hi Monica!
Good for you! I remember the first time I went to bed with my "sink shining"!!! I have kept it up ever since!
The little faces are to the left when you are writing a post. Just click on the face you want, in the place you want it and it will appear first in letters, after you post it the face appears like magic!
Have a great day! xo

Posted - Jun 11 2008 : 9:27:09 PM Maryjane, thank you so much!!!!! I have already signed up with flylady and I really love it. It is frustrating sometimes to feel like all I do is clean in circles, especially in my kitchen!!! I have to laugh though because the first step at flylady is to shine the sink so I guess that means I will have to wash the dishes first!! Oh well!!!! Can someone tell me how to add the little faces on to my messages?? |

Posted - Jun 11 2008 : 3:48:43 PM Maryjane, thank you for the info.!!! I have never heard of it, but I will absolutely check it out because it seems as though I am always cleaning. I paint and sew and I am also trying to get stuff listed on Etsy and it seems as though I start in the morning determined to quickly clean up and then make clothes for my girls or list something and then the next thing I know it's dinner time and I am still cleaning!!!! I am going to bookmark FlyLady.com. I love your blog. The pictures are beautiful and I bookmarked it. |
