I would be interested in hearing where everyone is from. What I mean is where were you born and where did you end up? I started my life in Alliance, NE and now live in Pasco, WA. I went to 16 schools in 12 years. Needless to say we moved a lot.

Hi Betty J....I was born in Richwood, Kentucky and now live in Elsmere, Kentucky which is about 8 miles east. In my 34 years though, I've lived in West Virginia, Michigan, New York, and England and settled back in the Bluegrass. There are many wonderful places to live and to be, home is where you make it. Fun question!

Susan, welcome to the great Pacific NW. I'm Betty and I live in Pasco, WA just across the river from you. We should get together at the Richland Spudnut Shop and chat over "milk & cookies." They make the absolutely best doughnuts there. I've been in the Tri-Cities for thirty years come this fall. I love this area and the weather, but often wish I could have grown up in Alliance, NE where I was born and where all my relatives live. I feel I've missed out on a large part of life without relatives.

Welcome and I'm glad to learn you are a member of CSA. What did you find in your first box of goodies--besides asparagus.

I have recently moved to Richland, Washington so am near some of you. Before that we lived in Las Vegas for about 14 years, before that in Maryland (greater D.C.), Long Island (Suffolk County) before that, Rochester New York when we were first married. I grew up in Salt Lake City, college in Vermont, grad school in Chicago.

I'm enjoying the area though we don't know a lot of people yet. We have enrolled in a local CSA and got our first box of veggies on Tuesday. A big change from Las Vegas!

I was born in Baltimore City, MD....we moved to the Catonsville/Arbutus area when I was a toddler. When I was a young teen we moved out to Ellicott City, MD. It was like moving to the middle of nowhere...all farm country and I just loved it! Since I've been married we've moved around alot but have been in Gettysburg,PA for several years now. One day hope to move out West!

Hi Diane,

I live in Albuq. so we are sort of neighbors! I was born in Hartford, Ct.....Then my family moved to NY (Brooklyn)....We moved to NM when I was a little girl so I consider myself a native. My husband was in the Military so we moved from the East Coast to the West Coast and settled back in Albuq. many years ago. Nice to know there is another New Mexican here! I am also new to the Forum.

I was born in Phoenix, AZ and then my family made a huge move to Glendale, AZ (basically a suburb of Phoenix, so my remark was a little sarcastic there). I went to school at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, where I met my husband. We are in Payson, AZ now, but who knows for how long, since we are waiting to hear back from some job opportunities my husband has applied for.

Hi Mary Jane,
I lived in New York for two years and worked at the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. The ex and I lived in Liverpool. His parents emigrated from Wales in 1947, so he was basically born here.

Samantha,
I have always wanted to go to Texas. It's one of a handfull of states I haven't been in. There seems to be a variety of landscapes there. I have a dear friend who lives in Austin, so I may make it one day. Also the HUGE quilt show in Houston would be a lot of fun.

I have always been in Texas...I was born in a small small small town named Naples...the hospital that I was born in was a vet clinic 2 years later! I then migrated to Pittsburg, which is only small-small, and was raised there. I then met my hubby and moved to Gilmer, which is just small...and I am as happy as a bug in a rug!

Dirt under my nails and weeds in my hair...don't tell me I can't dress up with flair!

Hi Betty! Pasco, Washington isn't so far from me: Yakima!

I was born in Colorado, raised in Utah and Colorado until my teens, when we moved to Washington. I LOVE it here, always have. I like the West side, with the salt water and trees, but I'm in the desert now, where there's lots of sunshine and horses *U*

I grew up in metro Atlanta, Georgia. Lived in the same house the whole time I was growing up. My grandparents lived up the red clay dirt road from us. My Aunt and Uncle a little further up the road. Everyone knew everybody and as they say we all sprung from the same branch. You were related to everyone around.
I got married 33 years ago and still live in Georgia about 2 and 1/2 hours from Atlanta now. My 84 year old mother and my 4 brothers and 2 sisters still live in metro Atlanta. And all their families. Except now where we lived then, looks like a extention of Atlanta.

You can never have enough friends.

Hi, this is my first post ever on any kind of forum! I live in Brinnon, Washington on the Hood Canal, where it rains a lot. I was raised in Olympia, Washington, went to college in Bellingham, Washington, and my mom's family has its roots in the Palouse, near where Mary Jane lives. My great uncle still lives on the homestead where my grandfather was raised! Maybe that's where I got the farmgirl's heart. Last fall, a friend lent my Mary Janes Lifebook, etc. to read because she thought I was like Mary Jane. She was so right, and now I find out I am not all that weird at all. There are lots of people like me. Wow!

I was born and raised in Rockford, MI, but spread my wings for college and ventured to Tulsa, OK. Loved it there, but after graduation and working on a film that was filmed in Tulsa, I moved to Los Angeles, CA where several friends were. After a couple years in the big city, I moved back to Rockford, MI. Our house is on the market though, and an opportunity in Kentucky is calling my husband's name. Glad to know that there will be some instant farmgirl friends if we venture that way!!!!

It's great to see where everyone is from, and from all over I see. I was born and raised in OK- moved alot before the age of 16. Parents settled in a town in OK for my highschool years and then I moved to TX - met my DH and we moved to CA and I lived there the early years of my adult life and raised our girls then for their highschool years moved to a small TX town. That is where we are now. ;)

Betty,
we are neighbors as I live in Prosser Wa. I grew up in Coulee City wa ( which isnt to far from Bridgport) then after I married I spent time in my Husbands hometown of Dayton WA. Then while he attend WSU we lived in Colfax and stayed there for about 12 years. While we love Prosser I must say I miss the rolling hills of Palouse and go there as often as time will allow. I am the assistant director for the Prossers farmers market and we are hosting a "farmgirl round up" on May 24th 9-12 I would love to have as many local farmgirls come as can make it.. anyway, howdie neighbor!

Kathie, Sherone is right. It is Garndner Village and I love it. It is in West Jordan. That is where I grew up. The witch festival is the best. My favorite store there just closed, but the lady who ran it is going on line. It is a baby store. It's called Elsa Belle. I bought hat for my daughter there, and everyone compliments her on it. That is pretty cool you were able to go there!

Sherone, do you ever do to the Mountain Man Rendevouz in Ft. Bridger? I went once and loved it. There is a family that lives in our neighborhood that goes every year. I'm still trying to talk my husband into going this next fall.

I was born in Seattle, WA, and we moved to Rogue River, OR near my fifth birthday. We went to Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach, Florida for about a year, when I was in the third grade. Then we went to Bellingham, WA for a few months, then back to Southern Oregon. I moved to Portland, OR when I was 19-30. I moved back to Seattle/Des Moines, WA in 2006, where I met DH. We lived in Bonney Lake, WA for a year and a half. THree months after our son was born, we moved to Moyie Springs/Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
