Hello Everyone,

My name is Linda and although I was born and raised in Washington State, I now reside in Los Angeles, CA.

This is a challenging place for a country-girl to live but I manage to bring the warmth and groundedness of "home" here and want to broaden that by being in contact with all of you!

Looking forwad to getting to know you!

Hugs,

Linder

Hey Grace,
My folks are hunkered down and snowed in! I talked to them the other day and they tell me that the garbage and mail trucks can't get in and they can't get out! Yikes.
The folks live down by the Little Spokane River. Very pretty area. Not sure what part of town that is! LOL! Beautiful property by the river. Makes a Farmgirl sigh!

Linda,
boy o boy your folks weren't kidding.... go figure, our first winter up here & it has to be a "Cold" one!!!
The biggest problems are the street plowing, transit systems and mail delivery..we have friends & neighbors that were at whits end trying to get their driveways cleared. One of our neighbors who has a plow attached to the front of his 4x4 got stuck in our driveway, my hubby and our neighbor had to dig out the truck & then my hubby had to reverse tow the snowplow truck out of the snow. I too had a mishap with snow & ice. all in a days fun!!...but the weather is much better now & we are suppose to be in the mid-to high 30's by the end of the week...Wahoooo! Break out the sunglasses & sunscreen! lol!
Hope your folks are ok, do they live in town or Spokane Valley or one of the communities around spokane?

Grace!

I spoke with my parents today and it sounds like you're getting buried up there! How are you doing? My folks said, the mail delivery and garbage pick ups have ceased because the vewhicles can't get into the neighborhoods. They also said the kids have been out of school all week. Far cry from Moorpark, huh?

Welcome from sunny? (well, snowy, rainy, windy, and freezing cold) Santa Barbara! I'm just up the coast in a small town near Santa Barbara. You will love it here. I look forward to getting to know you. Us California gals will have to plan a get-together one of these days.

Hi Jenn,
Actually been here for 7 years now. Just haven't gotten around much, all work and no play...

And a big hello to Sherone as well and thanks for the lovely welcome. Everyone's been terrific!

Welcome aboard Linder

I'm up in Ventura County. Not so sunny these days. In fact we had hail this afternoon. I had to chuckle when I read you were from Bellvue. I have an uncle and an aunt who live there. I use to tell him he made me laugh every time I thought about them. One time he asked me what was so funny. I said "how could I not laugh - a shrink and a therapist living in Bellvue. Wouldn't that make you laugh?" He thought that was great.

You're gonna have a great time here.

Hi Trish!
I'm from Bellevue, WA but have parents living in spokane, WA now. Home isn't quite like it used to be, not even the rural areas. That's growth for you. I love Spokane though, so much LAND, clean air and water you can drink right out of the tap! That's a miracle for those of us who have to buy our water here. LOL!

I'll take a picture of my latest quilt when I visit Minnesota this weekend and try to post next week. I made a super thick one for my best friend as a Christmas gift. All recycled vintage items except for the organic cotton batting. It weighs a ton but man is it warm!

Hi Linder!! Welcome!!

Wow, for recently moving you sure have accomplished a lot. I'm sure it's those "hobbies" that keep you sane through the stresses.

I look forward to hearing more and seeing pics.
