The Heart of Texas Farmgirls are making big plans! We've been laying low for a while but now are ready to get going strong again!
Within our Heart of Texas Farmgirl group, we are planning to have sub-groups to reflect the different sections of Texas. Here are their working names so far:

Panhandle Farmgirls
Big Bend Country Farmgirls
Hill Country Farmgirls
Prarie Farmgirls
South Texas Farmgirls
Gulf Coast Farmgirls
Piney Woods Farmgirls

We will be looking for Henchos to help form these groups. Each group will also have a place in the Heart of Texas Henhouse.
Brooke(LilWing) will be the Hencho of the Gulf Coast Farmgirls. Others will be announced as they are formed.
We are hoping each group will be able to have once a month meetings and a big Heart of Texas Gathering will happen once a year.

Heather (Catscharm74) is our new Newsletter Hen! She'll be keping us all informed, announcing our get-togethers and anything else we need to crow about!
Be looking for more announcements as we heat up the HOTTIES! If your a Texas Farmgirl, we invite you to join us! Contact Brooke (LilWing) if you need more info on any of the sub-groups.

Awesome! :-) Be sure to like the fb page for updates. We're just getting started. I know there was one, but I'm not sure if they're active.

Thanks, Sharon!! Having lived in the Chicago area for 20+ years, an hour isn't that far, lol. I would definitely be up for any activities at the 1/2 way mark for sure. :)

Is there still an Austin Chapter?

Kim, you may decide Pflugerville is too far South, but you're welcome to join the Bell County Belles!

I love this chat room. I forgot how much fun I had and how enjoyable it always is. Everyone here and at MJ Farm is so nice. I would love to be part of an active chapter.

I suppose that would put Hippie Chicks in the Big Bend area! So far it is just 2 of us. We are getting together today to discuss launching the group in our town. Midland, TX.

So, what are we doing again?

Awesome, Kim! I used to live in Georgetown and Round Rock. I don't think there's a Hill Country Hencho yet... ;-)

I am here in Pflugerville (Austin Area). Just waiting for my membership number to be (hopefully) renewed! I don't want a new number, hopefully it hasn't been reassigned. Anywhoo, I'm here!

I can't quite tell if I'm in Hill Country or Prairies and Lakes! I'm from Austin, but I'm currently in Temple, so I suppose that's a millimeter or so into the P&L side. :-)

EDIT: I found a slightly more detailed map that made it more clear that Bell County (where I am) is part of the Prairies and Lakes. Travis and Williamson Counties are part of the Hill Country region. Here's a link to that map if you want to see it: http://www.durangotexas.com/eyesontexas/TexasRegions/texasregions.htm

Dee, I'm from Orange but one day we are going to move up to my in-laws land in Woodville. We'll be pretty close then!

My address is Carthage, but I actually live closer to Logansport, LA. I earned several merit badges when I first joined, but haven't for awhile now. It would be fun to get together to work on some. That would be good motivation.

I'll mark my calendar to contact you in January to set up a meeting!

Yes, Kyria, that would be great! I have been a a member of the farmgirls for a year now....I just renewed my membership, but I have not been earning my merit badges. I love this mindset. Did you say that you live in Carthage? Yes, Nacogdoches would be about what.. 45 min for you and 30 min for me? That sounds great!!

Finally! Someone (kinda) close to me! LOL Dee, we're about an hour and a half apart. Holidays are busy, busy, but would you like to try to meet after the first of the year? I'd be willing to drive at least to Nacogdoches.

Well there are ~14 of us that do lots of stuff together and loosely call ourselves the Lee County MJF Chapter though we have members from outside Lee County. If there are any ladies out there interested you can contact me at horsefeathers24@gmail.com We just had a holiday party last Friday and we're talking about a chocolate baking class in January at a local independent bakery. Most of the women are into organic farming, horses, hand crafts, gardening, cooking, etc. Some are real entrepreneurs with certified organic farms serving the Austin area or online endeavors like Katie from www.thehillcountrycook.com while others just sit back and admire them :) Our group is made up of a variety of ages. Join us!
