Posted - Oct 10 2008 : 08:58:11 AM Morning Girls! Michelle (Huckleberry Wine) has invited us to all come hang out with her . . . and the entire town of Rosalia, for an Autumn Town Festival they will be having on Saturday, Oct. 25th. What I thought we could do is all meet at Chaps (the wonderful little bistro Celeste Shaw owns in the Latah Creek business district.) at 8 am, have coffee and a goodie and then head to Rosalia. Rosalia is only 40 minutes (or less) from Spokane. This is the towns first year doing this, so it will be good to support them. Also, MaryJane will be signing books there that day too. Let me know via email if you will be coming. And, of course, this is open to anyone who wants to join us . . . not just regular Farmgirl Blessings Members.
Hugs & blessings,
Brenda

Posted - Oct 29 2008 : 11:01:03 AM Ok Michelle, I can do one better (of course your younger so the snap shots in your "mind" stay put), I actually need the "snap shots"... Boy we had a great time. I am always so thrilled when I find that I love the farmgirls as much in person as I do on the forum and this group is certainly no different.Rosalia is such a darling little community and the people are so awesome, I really had a great time there.

Posted - Oct 29 2008 : 09:18:36 AM Oh don't tempt me!!!!! my poor hubby would have a coranary,,, he had to tend to his two younger sisters horses, you know, feed, muck the stalls and arena grading because he was the 'boy' and the girls were to busy making excusses why they were so busy & couldn't tend to their own horses. It left a negative feeling for him.
I on the other hand have always been partial to Morgans....luv those big goofy babies. Loyal & True horses. Anyhow, it's been such a long time since I have even riden, heck, I don't know if I can remember were Reverse is!!! lol!

Posted - Oct 26 2008 : 8:26:34 PM What a blast! I should have had my camera, but I've got mental snapshots to keep me smiling a good long time. I so wish we could have caught up with Teresa Sue, kidnapped Rene' for some play time, and flown all the other farmgirls in too. Oh...July 4 is a ways off, but I just can't imagine what a blast it will be...this was tiny compared to the gigglefest that will be. Maybe the Rosalia and Spokane gals should invade Prosser next.
You know, Grace and Amanda, there's a little filly where my little colt came from... The only sad news is that they won't be raising any more babies themselves (famous last words?). Paso Finos are sweet natured horses. I was so impressed with how willing and gentle he was with those girls. Of course, the girls were impressive too!

I'll be in Rosalia a bit earlier and have to leave by 11:30. Still counting on seeing some of you, Rene, don't forget your cheeleader outfit, ;^)

Posted - Oct 23 2008 : 3:54:31 PM Okey dokey. I just sent an e-mail to those of you who have said here that you are coming. If you didn't get one, let me know, as I mean to include you all. :) I'm all butterflies like the day before Christmas. Now I've got to scoot off and start getting ready. I won't be on the forum again probably through the weekend as the farm trailer is pretty basic livin' and I'll be busy horsing around. :)

Posted - Oct 20 2008 : 8:11:32 PM Grace, you are so sweet! I'm hoping to have "tasting stations" set up on a walking tour of the property. Along with fruit juices and snacks to keep us all upright. If I can swing it with this week's schedule, I'll pair my favorite flavors and get it all set up at my favorite view spots. We'll just have to see how it goes. If only I had 24 more hours each day... If Rosalia does well, then maybe I'll just have to make this an annual event too and get better at it with experience. :) I do hope you can make it. This will be so much fun.
Graciegreeneyes (Amy) and I had a cookie-baking meeting tonight and we're so excited to have you all come down. :) Just let us know when. :)

Posted - Oct 18 2008 : 10:21:12 PM MMM this rose hip wine is growing on me. Oops. One bottle down. He he. Better cut it out and save some to share. Found some pomegranate I had stashed away. It is yummy! (won a ribbon at the fair 2 yrs. ago). Well, who knew making more than I drank would finally come in handy? Just when I was starting to run out of places to "cellar" it. Just be sure to taste early, or plan to camp out with me at the farm. First 3 get beds, beyond that you'll have to find room in the haystack or snuggle up with the horse. :)
I'm going to set up the wine-tasting at my farm. My horse will be arriving on the 24th. So I'm going to be farm-bound while he settles in that weekend. But I do plan on trading shifts with DH so I can meet up with you all at MaryJane's booth, whoop it up, check out the fun, and then see who wants to come back to the farm for a campfire/tour/winetasting/snacks/whatever. Much as I'd love to stay in town all day and even tour the haunted house, horse-mommy duty calls. But I'll certainly do as much as I can while you're all here. What a treat!

Posted - Oct 17 2008 : 08:06:02 AM So looking forward to it. So all the Spokane area gals can meet at Chaps for coffee and whatever and then we can meet up with the rest of you once we get there. Perhaps we should all meet at the MaryJane's Farm booth . . . I am sure Rene needs to be pestered by a bunch of persistent farmgirls . . .
Hugs & blessings,
Brenda
