The instructions are so simple...I haven't made slippers in years! Aren't they sweet? And oh so soft and warm!

Thanks Angela for all of the yarn!!!

I'm hooked. I can't stop knitting those cute little slippers featured in this months MaryJanes Farm magazine!!

I hate using inexpensive yarn for my creations but am poor so money is tight...I would like to barter soap, solid perfume, salve, or whipped shea butter in exchange for enough wool to make at least
4-pr of medium sized slippers.

any takers??

thanks girls!

I do believe it is a wool blend. It was all given to me by a little old lady who used to get her hair done by me. She was so excited to have someone to take all of her knitting stuff (she only had sons, grandsons and reat grandsons. one great granddaughter and no one wanted to learn or knew how to knit or crochet) after she had goten arthritis very badly. So I am not for total sure what exactly it is, but it is nice yarn..probably vintage;) I still have 2 skein left I found, I think I will knit up a couple of sets with that too. I am so glad another farmgirl is getting some use out of it too.(and so will Ms. Peggy)

Angela...I can't keep up I have given away 4-pair as of today's date. I am using these funky vintage buttons (not making the buttonhole just attaching it to the little band and they are so sweet...I just have three pair saved! I found my son Elli last night sliding around on the wood floors with a pair on....KIDS! I wanted to ask you about the yarn I am using is there wool in there? It's the neatest yarn I have ever worked with. I just love it!

Melody,
I have to say, your soaps are WONDERFUL. I love the oatmeal milk and honey!! That is by far my favorite. Please do not stop making that one...when I am out I am coming to you etsy site for more!!!
How is the slipper making coming along? I have finished 3 pair and my mom already stole one set:) It was okay though they were her birthday gift, so I told her she wasn't getting anything else! LOL Hope you are getting many sets done!

I have been knitting a similar pattern for quite some time now. I sent Melanie a copy. No strap but they knit up quickly and I keep a basket by the front door for visitors. Even have some in a size 12 for my big footed son. I usually made them out of washable because they get so much use. If anyone is interested in the patters, email me.

Isn't this great! WARM FEET come Christmas time....how nice is that!!

Lets post photos of our finished product. I actually completed my 3rd set today while we were vendors at a juried art fest about 3 hours drive from here. We got halfway there when I realized I left my favorite bamboo knitting needles in the front room. Had my bag, had the yarn, had one complete slipper, extra buttons, and no knitting needles. The first Wal-mart we came across I yelled at Bruce to "STOP" "I have to get #7 knitting needles before we go one mile further!" My DD hit the brakes bought my needeles and ended up buying a dozen donuts as well!!

Melody I can't wait to see pics. I really loved the pictures in the new MJF magazine. I have got to learn to knit.

Well I bought one skein of yarn and I completed 2-pair of slippers and I think I will be able to squeeze another pair out of what I have left. The slippers are just darling and I add a vintage button along the side just like what Maryjane has shown in this months magazine! Let me know what colors you have Melody June and we can barter!

OH...I boxed your FO's this afternoon very carefully and they are ready to be posted!

Talk to you soon!

Hi, did you get enough yarn? I have some that I'll never use. How much does it take for a pair? I have lots of different colors.
