Posted - Dec 20 2006 : 05:20:22 AM After almost 6 months, two orthopedic boots, one hard cast, a pair of crutches, an insanely expensive medical bone-growth device, and countless prayers, my left foot fracture has finally healed. Yesterday I took a walk around the neighborhood and drove my car, both for the first time since summer. Wonderful!
I am going to speak with my employer later today, they have let me work from home through all this (couldn't drive the 1-hour-each-way commute with clutch) and I am going to ask/plead/beg if I can stay on working from home. I've come to love working with the dogs under my desk, open windows, laundry-line breaks, and Dean Martin on the CD player. The thought of going back to a hermetically sealed building, windowless office with fluorescent lights, and office politics makes me heartsick. If you have a moment in this busy time, please send a prayer they will allow it, God willing. |
