Is anyone interested in a thread where we could share a health hint of the day? It could be a reminder of something we all should know or something you have read or discovered elsewhere?

For today.

For heart health it is shown that laughter promotes blood flow and opens blood vessels. How great that something that is fun is really good for us! Suggestion: If you haven't already found it, check out the Across the Fence forum for "Let's laugh our way through 2014".

Up to a challenge?
Try quizly.co

I passed a test of medical technology.
They have many interesting tests that give you the answers after you try them so you can learn from them.
The next I will try is a first aid quiz.

Hi Judy,
I sure have been AOL lately! Things have been pretty busy around here. Thanks for sending a message. I have continued checking on information but not sharing. Knowing someone else is interested reminds me to get back to sharing.

Osteo-Arthritis Foods to Make it Better

Bottom Line's The Healing Kitchen copyright 2014

It is well documented that people who With RA (Reumatoid Arthritis) and OA (Osteo-Arthritis) who eat plenty of oily fish experience less inflammation and pain. Newer studies show that omega-3s relieve joint pain by boosting the body's production of inflammation-fighting fats called resolvins...

Hints:
1. Eating 3 servings of fish every week can keep harmful prostoglandins and leukotrienes(inflammatory chemicals) under control.
2.All fish contain some Omega 3s but the varieties with the highest levels are cold-water fish; wild salmon, tuna, wild trout, herring, mackerel(not king) Pacific oysters, anchovies, scallons and sardines.
3. Look for the richest colors, the darker the flexh, the higher the Omega 3 content.
4. Open a can. Some people don't like cooking fish. Canned water packed tuna, salmon or sardines contain the same quality Oemga 3s.

Look for ".pharmacy" is at the Web address, which indicates the site is licensed and has been verified with the NSBP (National Board of Pharmacy). (Only U.S. based sites with ".pharmacy" in the URL will ship to U.S,to addresses.

SHOULD YOU BUY YOUR MEDS ONLINE? PART 2
Consumer Reports On Health October 2015
Safer Strategies
There are legitimate online pharmacies.
If you choose to order from an online pharmacy, make sure it is licensed, requites you to submit prescriptions, has a state-licensed pharmacist available to answer your questions, and is within the U.S.

SHOULD YOU BUY YOUR MEDS ONLINE? PART 1
Consumer Reports On Health October 2015

Millions of people get prescription drugs from Internet sites. What you need to know before you do it, too.

Almost 60 % of people surveyed in June, by the Consumer Reports National Research Center, said they're trying to cut health card costs. Many said they get bargains on medications, for example, by buying them from online pharmacies outside he U.S..
"It's not terribly risky to order a toaster online, but it is when you fill prescriptions through Internet pharmacies." Cyberspace is rife with sellers peddling illegal and even toxic products, often through websites that appear to be authentic.
Only 4% of the 11,000 online drug outlets recently reviewed by the National Association of Pharmacy were operating according to U.S. laws and standards.
ONLINE DRUG DANGERS
* Drugs may be counterfeit of poorly made
* May contain too much or too little of the drug's active ingredient
* May be a different drug entirely
* May contain dangerous contaminants or toxins
* Puts your personal and financial information at risk
* Because it is illegal to order drugs from outside the U.S., you may never receive what you ordered
* If filled incorrectly or if they make you sick, you have no legal recourse

It's not just that I grew up on a dairy farm, or that I like the taste. There are real health reasons to choose butter.

"Pass The Butter ... Please.

This is interesting . .. .

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back.

It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow colouring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavourings....

DO YOU KNOW.. The difference between margarine and butter?

Read on to the end...gets very interesting!

Both have the same amount of calories.
Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams; compared to 5 grams for margarine.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few and only because they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years .

And now, for Margarine..

Very High in Trans fatty acids.

Triples risk of coronary heart disease ...

Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five times..

Lowers quality of breast milk

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC... and shares 27 ingredients with PAINT.

These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

Open a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow.

Why? Because it is nearly plastic . Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends.....(If you want to butter them up')!

Chinese Proverb:
When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.

Pass the BUTTER PLEASE" -
