Last Sunday hubby and I were headed to a chicken show in N.Y. We left at 4 in the morning so I was falling alseep sitting up in the truck. We were about an hour and a half away from home. I woke up not feeling well. I felt like I was going to pass put so I laid the seat back. Well that is all I remember. I had a seizure(So they think). Hubby called 911 and they met us at the next toll booth. I had a cat scan at the hospital and they found a mass near my pituitary gland. I followed up with my regular DR and he sent me for an MRI and to the neurologist. All the test results haven't come back yet but He did say it was 6.5 MM. He siad they worry after they are 10MM but still.I have had headaches for the last 6 months and my regular DR thought it was stress and allergies. I still have to have an EEG and they haven't gotten the MRI report yet so right now it is all a wait and see game. Until then I am not allowed to drive. Luckily I am able to do my job from home. My boss has been so understanding.
So I will keep you all posted on what I hear and if you all know anyone who has been though this and experiences would be great. It is so scary not knowing what to expect. Thank you,
Alicia

Alicia, I'm so glad the problem isn't "more serious", but you do have my sympathy for that disk--it can be mighty painful. I wish they knew what's causing your headaches, but glad the medication helps. I'm praying for you.

I went to the DR. today for the follow up appointment. I have a herniated disk in my lower back causing the numbness and pain. Physical therapy will help it. I know I shouldn't be happy to have that but I am so relieved it is not something more serious. My headaches are starting to get under control with the medicine the Dr. gave me. I have even lost 13 pounds.I just wanted to thank you all for all your prayers and postive thinking.
HUGS,
Alicia

Yes warwick is near where I live but Rhode Island is so small anything is close. Just kidding, the native Rhode Islanders never travel more that 15 minutes anywhere even though it only takes an hour to go through the whole state.Warwaikc is a couple of towns over from where I live, not far at all. I hope you had a good time visiting the ocean state.Thank you for all the prayers, Hugs,

Good news Alicia, we'll keep those prayers coming for you to finally be over this gruelling time. Let's hope there is nothing to "find" and you are given a clean bill of health. Be well and know that I am thinking about you. ( I was in Warwick over the weekend, is that anywhere near you?)Hugs...

Well I have good news. The ambiltory EEG came back normal. They found one small blip but the dr said it is nothing to worry about. I am cleared to drive again.YEAH!!! Even thought I was loving working from home. He upped my dosage of my medication for my headaches and he wants to see me back if things don't get better.Otherwise I will see him in 3 months or if my regular Dr thinks I need more test to rule out M.S.
So thank you for all your prayers and I will let you know what my Regular Dr has to say next week.

Thank you so much for asking how I am doing.
I have an appointment this afternoon @ 4:00 to get the results of the ambiltory EEG. I am a little nervous. I went to my regular DR. a few weeks ago and he sent me to Physical Therapy for my legs. They are trying to see what is causing the tingling. They are trying to rule out M.S.(They don't think it is now that I have been going), restless leg syndrome, Neropathy or it might be a disc in my back causing the leg issues. I follow up with the Regular DR. next week to see how the PT went. I will let you all know more later and Thank you so much for asking.

Hey Alicia! I guess from this date you are no longer "wired" and hopefully you will have some results. Have you ever been checked for restless leg syndrome? My MIL went through 2 years of seriously not getting enough sleep and her symptoms sounded surprisingly similar to yours. She didn't have a seizure(maybe...), but we did have an episode where she was on the floor and didn't know how she got there and couldn't get up. Lack of sleep does weird things to your whole body. Your tingly leg pain might be part of that too. Hope the docs can figure it out for you and the worst part of the treatment was all this waiting. Take good care of yourself and let us know how you are. You are in my prayers.

Alicia,
You are in my prayers, it sounds like everything is coming out well and I am glad for that. I hope you are sleeping better hooked up to all those wires. I am not a happy camper with lack of sleep either.

Alicia,

I'm so sorry. I hadn't seen your earlier posts. Saying a prayer for you to get this test done comfortably and then on to treatment. Thinking about you.

Oh, Alicia - that sounds like such a pain in the neck - literally! It doesnt' sound like you're complaining at all. It just sounds like you've got a stressful situation on your hands. When my first son was very little, as in a day or so old, he had to be hooked up to so many wires and electrodes and IVs and all sorts of stuff. It really looked uncomfortable, to say the least. And while I haven't seen what you have, I've seen the same types of things. I'm so glad that it's only until Monday! My peaceful and comfortable thoughts are with you... "Complain" any time!

XOXO, Libbie

I had the ambiltory EEG equipment put on yesterday morning. It wasn't too bad but I slept horrible last night. All the wires are piled on top of my head and a thicker wire runs down and connects to a recording machine in a fanny pack. I kept thinking I was going to choke myself. They covered all the wires with a thin light weight cap type thing but it kept falling off while I slept. I have been trying to think of something that could keep this cap on better but I don't know if it is suppose to be loose. I am already cranky and I have to wear this thing until next Monday. Sorry for complaining. I am tired. Thanks for listening,
Alicia

I finally got an appointment to have my ambilatory EEG done. I go next Monday to get hooked up. I have to wear it for seven days or until an incident. I hope it all comes back normal so I can drive again. Even though I would like to know why the seizure happened but I am ready for my life to go back to normal. I still have been having the headaches and the Dr. just wants me to wait a few more weeks to see if this medicine will work. It can take up to 6 weeks before the full effects start to work. The Dr. also started me on physical therapy because I mentioned to him the leg pain I have been having for years and he wants them to evaluate me. I have been tested for a ton of stuff but they really never found out why I have the pain( Its a tingling type thing not really painful)
I do have some great news though. The MRI results came back from the neuro-radiologist and there is no tumor visable on the MRI. The neuro-radiologist thinks the Cat scan showed a shadow and thats what they thought was something. He said a cat scan isnt the best at looking at the pituitary gland. Thank you everyone for all your well wishes. I will let you know any thing else that comes up.

Can you try ALEVE? I know for migraine sufferers it's better to taske these than the Tylenol type meds that cause rebound.

I'm so sorry about your troubles. It must be scary AND frustrating.

I hate getting headaches almost more than stomach aches.

Be strong, we are praying for you!

Alicia, glad to hear the good news. I'm glad he's sending the rads for a second opinion especially since he seems to be a little inconsistant about his diagnosis. Is the med helping with the headaches? Hang in there, things are looking up. Keep us updated.

I went to the Dr. yesterday. The EEG didn't show anything was wrong. The next step is doing an ambilatory EEG. He doesn't seem to think I had a seizure, which is a good thing but this next test will rule that out for sure. He did give me something for my headaches. I still am not allowed to drive until the next test comes back. The Dr. said the MRI showed something hardly there and the report said everything is normal. He is sending the films to a Neuroradiologists for a second opinion. This part confused me, two weeks ago he said something is there now he is saying it is not. I rather have it not but why the change. I still don't have any definate answer but it is looking good. Thank you all for your well wishes they seem to be working.
