Posted - Sep 19 2006 : 2:57:44 PM Hi all,
For anyone who would like to make their own Kefir, I periodically have live grains available that I could send to anyone who would like them. As they are living, they multiply, and I have already gotten everyone I know to start drinking Kefir and using the grains, so now I am to the point of having to throw them away.
Two reasons I don't want to do that- 1. I hate to waste, and live healthy grains aren't always the easiest to come by. 2. Oddly enough- I feel kinda bad just trashing the grains, I mean, they are living and all. Silly, I know.
I have a batch ready to send out anytime, so if anyone wants, please let me know. I will send instructions as to how to "make" the kefir and take care of the grains- it's VERY simple and inexpensive.
Kefir has great health benefits and tastes good- especially as a base for smoothies, and the kefir made from the live grains is MUCH better than storebought Kefir.
Here's a link about Kefir for more info about the benefits: http://www.kefir.biz/benefit.htm http://www.mercola.com/forms/kefir.htm
Erica Oh..PS: I would send the live grains free of course! |

Posted - Aug 21 2015 : 4:12:23 PM Hi, It's been a long time since this discussion began, but I have just recently became acquainted with kefir, and I really want to try it. If you are still doing it, and have kefir grains to find a home for, I would love to have a little. Thanks |

Posted - Jun 12 2012 : 04:19:50 AM I received my grains from someone who had dried them. But she hand delivered them to me. It does make sense that it's better way to ship them safely. I should ask her how she did it!

Posted - Nov 19 2010 : 6:09:51 PM Hello all, nice site you have here. I'm hoping to find someone in the Yakima Wa area whom can give me some Real Milk Kefir Grains, so I don't have to use the store bought powder starter. I hear the real ones are much better in every way, and can become your mother source ever after, whereas the powdered kind will die off after a few generations. |

Posted - Feb 24 2009 : 11:18:13 PM I have made my own Kefir before using raw whole cows milk and a packet of kefir starter from the store. Is it better to use your live grains rather than the store packet...I guess that it a stupid question... so, what is the difference? Should I be asking you to send me some of your live grains too? =)

Hi I am new here. Found the site as I was searching for keifer grains. I am trying to raise my chickens as organic and healty as possible and it would be cheaper for me to make my own vs buying it at the store where it runs $3.80 for a qt. I also drink it and like the flavored ones. I would appreciate it VERY much if you could send me some "grains". my email is bobbietwin2@hotmail.com Thanks.
