Posted - May 14 2010 : 6:57:56 PM what to do with those old bras . Up cycle them
make them into drawer scenters just cut the sides off and stuff cups with batting and lavender buds, dried rose petals or cedar chips
Add a few drops of essential oil to refresh. Like lavender (or any of your favorite scents)
You can also use for your closets, drawers, luggage, Stinky boots or sneakers
sew together.
if you leave the straps on you can hang them inside the closet or with your jackets and coats for the winter..
If you cut off the elastic straps you can use that for making your covid masks. Who knew.. But last year when I couldn't get any masks and had to make m own but couldn't find elastic so this worked great.
You can also make them into Pin cushions Just stuff with cotton batting scraps
Waste not..lol
Refresher spray pure essential lavender oil or your favorite scent Fill the bottle with 4 fluid ounces of purified water. If you would like to make a larger batch, simply increase the proportions, such as doubling or tripling the amounts. The mist spray will last. Add 40 drops of the lavender essential oil to the half alcohol and half water. Cap the bottle and shake well to mix ingredients

Posted - Aug 19 2012 : 08:25:53 AM I love the idea for the hot bag. I have fibromyalgia and use heating pads and bags in the evening to relieve some of the pain.
I also have a friend that does belly dancing for fun with her mother (believe it or not)(they are both in great shape). She cuts off the back bands with the hook n eyes and the straps, and replaces them with sequence and decorative ribbon and decorates the dickens out of the cups. I have seen some of their outfits and they are unbelievable. They dance for parties (all above board ladies) and gives the $$ to cancer research. Her mom is a survivor of breast cancer going on 11 years

Remember… Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body. Instead, you should slide in sideways, glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, in a body thoroughly used up, worn out and screaming “Woohooo! What a ride!”

Posted - Aug 18 2012 : 9:25:42 PM If you have a bra that you love the look of but hate to were why not make a hot bag out of it. Remove the under wire and the straps cut one side and fill with cheep uncooked white rice and re-sew the side. Repeat with second cup and you have two. Then you just place in the microwave for one minite to heat. |

Posted - Dec 11 2011 : 5:24:49 PM good thought. The underwires generally come out before the bra is worn out. Can't stand them.

Posted - Sep 12 2011 : 08:05:37 AM You girls are so funny. Loved reading the posts and ideas for uses of old bras. Neat idea on making your own fragrance spray too. My old bras are holding my old boobs too. lolol Remembering when I got my first bra and how ill fitting they were, but I was starting to "show", so that meant putting on the harness and enduring it.

Happy it is, indeed, for me that my heart is capable of feeling the same simple and innocent pleasure as the peasant whose table is covered with food of his own rearing, and who not only enjoys his meal, but remembers with delight the happy days and sunny mornings when he planted it, the soft evenings when he watered it, and the pleasure he experienced in watching it’s daily growth.

Posted - Jun 10 2011 : 6:29:10 PM tooooo funny, you guys. On a more serious note, in Fargo we have a Bra's On Broadway Festival for the last three years that I know of. Women donate their old bras, plus $5.00 and the bras are hung on broadway. some are quite fancy, some are just plain worn out. In the years During the first four years of Bras on Broadway more than $100,000 was given to the American Cancer Society (ACS), and last year more than $42,000 was raised. this year over $60,000 was donated to the ACS. This money is to help women battling breast cancer. This is a program that I would love to see in many more cities. Google bras on Broadway, so far it's the only one I know but there may be more cities in the works. |

Posted - Jun 10 2011 : 04:32:49 AM Hi All :) If you want a conversation piece, do as I have done. I made a purse out of my one bra & use it when I am on the motorcycle, slips right on the wrist ;) That reminds, I better get it out of storage :)
