Posted - Nov 25 2010 : 6:50:02 PM I went to the second Farm Fair held at the farm and as Joanne said the chapter leaders got to spend the night there. This time we brought our own tents or slept under the stars. We had a grand fire pit circled with straw bales and we all sang and told stories before we called it a night. In the morning before we all moseyed on we had breakfast brought to us by MaryJane herself. It was a great experience for me. My good friend Nita Mae--pure farmgirl--made the trip with me. She was not well and had a heart condition but prayed she would be able to attend. She did and had a wonderful time. 10 dayslater she has a massive heart attact and died---but she was smiling. So don't be sad for her. She told her daughter it was the most fun had had in a long time. MB

Posted - Nov 25 2010 : 08:06:30 AM We went over a year ago . My husband finally agreed to go with me after years of me pleading with him and everyone else.We hitched up our Teardrop traveled there from Northern California. Up through the Columbia river gorge. The trip was beautiful but MJ's farm was the Heavenly Whipped Cream on the top. We spent three nights and it poured and had lightning storms through parts of it , but we were cozy and had so much fun.Breakfasts are so good. Farm so inspiring. Check out our website no articles on MJ yet, but she has been a big inspiration to me.www.rosemancreekranch.com |

Posted - Nov 17 2010 : 3:22:34 PM JoAnn, what a wonderful story; I dream of visiting there too. My two adult daughters and I started having a girls only get-away weekend two years ago and I've thought it would be fun to go there. The oldest lives in Seattle and the other lives in Bend and so we try to meet up somewhere that none of us has to drive too terribly far. But my dream trip would be to Mary Janes B&B.

Posted - Nov 17 2010 : 3:16:51 PM Every thing about the farm is heavenly. I've been inside of one of the wall tents(Just gorgeous and inviting as all heck!), but have yet to stay the night. I'll just have to do that sometime soon =)

Posted - Nov 17 2010 : 3:08:27 PM There is something magical about the whole place. Six years ago when Maryjane had her Farm Fair on the Farm they decided to have a Farmgirl campout after the Fair ended for the chapter leaders who lived driving distance and I got to attend. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! We were suppose to bring tents and sleeping bags and camp in the field. All of the B & B guests left they said we could use the wall tents or the beds in the plum pit. Well I got there late and the only place left was the outside trampoline so Cindy Lou(who worked there) and I slept there. It was getting pretty cool in the evening even though it was Fourth of July. I could tell Cindy Lou was getting cold around 11 or so--she asked if I was cold and I said yea a little so she said let's go sleep in the loft of the Farmhouse kitchen?bunkhouse building. I said lets go. So we dragged our heavily dewed sleeping bags to the kitchem. Cindy Lou said leave them on the floor the beds are made upstairs. They sure were--nice crisp sheets and a down comforter. It was one of the great memories of my life here in the West. JoAnn |

Posted - Nov 16 2010 : 12:47:04 PM Oh my word! Her B&B is amazing! You see it often in the books and magazines. Each Wall tent has a bed that is made so beautifully with her linen and comforter line. They have wooden floors and little stoves in them if you wish to enjoy a little fire or warm a kettle of water for your morning tea. She also has some cabins to stay in as well if wall tents aren't your thing. There are outdoor tubs (suitably discreet) and exquisite food. Some of the best views in Northern Idaho and the farm crew is so nice and genuine! One of the best places on the farm is the "Plum Pit" that has a camp fire ring, picnic tables, even an outdoor bed! It's a place to gather, eat, bond and relax.
Seriously, if you get a chance to take a get away vacation at the B&B- it is worth it!
