Today I did X-mas ordering from MJF. I got food packets and I also got one of the drawstring bags, size large. Hope it fits......just kidding with ya.

I chose to have the saying "a little of this and that" on the bag, and I think I will fill it with the food packets and give it as a gift. I could order for everyone out of MJF's stuff. I may get another copy of the book for a friend.

The blonde brownies and the soups (I chose chili) and the breads.....all really great ideas to stuff a stocking with too.

I even saw the cutest baseball type hats I had not seen before....they say 'I dig farmgirls"! So cute! Guess I am getting in the Christmas shopping mode.

I would love to help with feedback. And I am sure all of us farmgirls would be good at that, too.

I am glad you are getting the chance to sit and gaze. It is infinitely important for your mental health and to living life the way it should be lived. New York may be fun, but it can't beat looking out the window at fields that stretch forever.

Thank you, MaryJane, for using your quiet moments for posting with us and sharing your thoughts.

Thank you, thank you, jpbluesky. You're such a dear heart. I'm sitting here writing today on my laptop, looking out across an empty horizon with a view that stretches as far as I can see. Lucky me! I feel so accomplished and at peace. It's wonderful for me to feel like for the first time in more than a year, I have time to not only read, but POST. What a concept! With regards to our flour, we are in fact getting closer to that reality every day. Two months ago, Brian poured concrete on a facility here that will mill our flour and also produce our farm fuel (biofuel). We won't be selling flour per se in the beginning but instead we'll offer my concept of something called a "Budget Mix." More on that later. But I too get dreamy eyed thinking about all manner of farmgirl goods....we're working on it!!!! How would you like to give us feedback on some of the ideas we come up with?

I love all the foods and MJF stuff. I still am envisioning denim skirts, overalls, straw hats, boots, bedding, tableware.....oh my gosh - MaryJane you could have it all and it would sell! If only there were more hours in the day, huh? But, you know, one item I would love to order and I know you have been trying to provide it, is flour from the mill. Anyway, until then, we will all enjoy the MJF bounty we have!

I am going to use MJ foods and cool stuff to fill alot of Christmas gift lists! I am a fanatic on her Peasant Tomato Soup...girls, this is THE best soup I have eaten...I fix it pipin hot and melt shreds of parmesan cheese in it and a few homemade garlic croutons...oh my gosh it is excellent!!!! The red pesto is scrumpcous!!! I mix a little sausage in it that is fried up. The black bean/corn chowder is excellent too, and I crunch corn chips in it...and top with some onions and grated cheddar cheese. Her foccacia is excellent with chopped tomatoes, parmesan cheese and garlic sauteed in olive oil with basil leaves.

I think I can go through the bulk pack just fine!! I am so tempted by it all..I love to look and see whats new and then usually order my usual favorites.

The aprons are just precious (so are the women modeling them) I love the brown and pink together! Reminds me of my Mom's 50's china. It was called "Swirl" and was discontinued in the early 60's cause the factory blew up where it was produced so it is quite valuable now. The boots are so cool! Thanks for the link Meg! I love the red ropers! They do look comfy! They have a lower heel than the regular boots don't they? May have to send Santa this link. The rolling pins in the picture is a nice touch!

Nope..not my aprons (I only wish!!)..like Carol said, but they do look alot like them!! I sure love making them!
I just thought the picture of all you farmgirls in your aprons was adorable!!!
I have a pair of green Justin roper boots that I have had for..gosh...12 years!! Where does the time go? I don't wear them as much as I used to. I think I want a red pair now. I saw a pearly sort of pair on my cousin once and thought they were awfully cute too. Ropers are so comfortable!! I should ask for red boots for Christmas..Santa could do that, right????

Hi girls! These are our aprons that are sewn by women in our region with patterns we invented here. Originally, we sewed these for our New York City Country Home booth, but had some left over so thought we'd sell them for Christmas. I'm working on a new web page that features MaryJanesFarm gift ideas for the holidays. It should be posted this weekend and will have a link directly from our home page. If the aprons are a hit, the rural women who are making these for us will be delighted! If you're a frugal farmgirl on a budget and would rather stitch your own, the patterns will be included in our next Stitching Room Workbook.

Have a wonderful day!
Carol

Aunt Jenny - are these your aprons for sale on MJF? I read where they are made by farm women, and I remember you furiously making aprons a few eeks back. So that is why I thought of you. Love the apons!!! Thanks, Meg, for the boot scoop!

Oh, and I got my order yesterday!!!! You guys are always so fast - and I love the little stitched bag. I want to keep it but it is an x-mas gift. Hm.....

We sure had too much fun shooting that photo! Can you hear the laughter just by looking at it? We sure are lucky farmgirls!
Did you see Julie Beck's red boots? She just picked them up. She ordered them from (MaryJane got a pair too, every farmgirl should have a red or pink pair of boots) www.corralwest.com. Item # AR15713, they are called Ariat Western Heritage boots. There are also a red pair that look very similar to Julie Bell's ropers. Item #JL3703, they are called Justin Ropers.
Cheers Farmgirls!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh the St. Paul Rodeo! My husband is a St. Paul boy....we go every year! The whole (little) town is certainly busting at the seams that time of year. Love the 4th of July parade too - you will see every John Deere tractor ever made! LOL Anne, I'd love to see that picture of you in those boots! Hope you can find it!

This is so funny about the red boots. When I was about 6 or 7 I wanted red cowboy boots. I just had to have them. Everytime we went to a western wear store I would go over to the boot section and look at the red cowboy boots. I think finally for my birthday, my mom bought me the boots, I got a hat and a small black tie. I wore these to the St. Paul (that's Oregon) rodeo. I thought I was the best dressed girl in town. I think I have a photo somewhere of me in this outfit. Will have to find it. Makes me when I read about your love of the red boots.

Jessica! Red cowboy/girl boots ROCK don't they! There is a huge Sheplers western wear store in Wichita close to where I live! It is an amazin place! A MJ logo would be so cool on red boots!

Quite funny you mention the cowboy boots in organic tomato red...I have a pair! :) I got a pair about 2 years ago and then when I ran into Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, I had him to autograph them. I wear them for time to time, but not on the farm anymore. Sheplers catalog (western wear) is where I got them from. Would be neat to have an official MJF seal on there kinda like President Bush and his seal on his.

I bought my youngest daughter a pair of red cowboy boots when she was 2yrs, 11 Halloweens ago for her cowgirl costume. She looked so precious! She wore them quite a long time and with everything, even in summer. I have them sitting on a book case by my desk. Maybe someday a future grandbaby will wear them!

Maybe they can find a wonderful line of cowboy boots (preferable red) that mystically make our feet all LOOK as SMALL as Julie Bells too!! I wear size 11's and I would probably look like I had red ski's on my feet..but hey! It's Christmas we're talkin' about right? Santa magic.......I believe....I believe....I believe..........

Emil was wearing that hat in NYC. Cute!!
I love the idea of some red boots, just like Julie Bell's.

Does Dansko make a cowboy boot? :) Probably not....time for MaryJane to have her own line of MaryJane overalls and aprons and boots and cowboy hats. Hey, it could be a whole new line of clothing! You guys at the farm do not have anything else to do right now do you?
