Posted - Apr 23 2007 : 04:49:57 AM My girls get daily compliments over what good layers they are. But one thing I noticed this weekend (we moved them into a new chicken house in a bigger field) is that they are amazing runners!! And so much fun to watch!

Posted - Apr 22 2007 : 6:27:03 PM Oh...I forgot to say...I have personally had chickens at least 8 years old..so I bet they DO live to be 10 with good circumstances.

I think when I finally get my chickens they will think a compliment is human talk!! They will be so spoiled!! I can't wait! (though I am not so sure about the BIG rooster DH is wanting! ) Hugz! Posted - Apr 21 2007 : 11:05:51 PM two of my chickens are going through a hard molt. Not very pretty girls but I think I can muster up a complement for their eggs.

Posted - Apr 21 2007 : 9:27:17 PM I have! Tammy laid an egg today (she's 7 years old and still lays an egg every other day spring-fall) and she was so proud. I'm always telling the chick-lets they're cute, so for them EVERYDAY is Complement Your Chickens Day.

Posted - Apr 21 2007 : 7:45:54 PM They (15 rir & 4 bronze turkeys) have lost their "cuteness", but are still cute because they're growing so darn fast and getting their real feathers. They'll be ready for the coop in a week. So they are fun.
