According to the MaryJane's Farm 2007 calendar that is hanging right by my front door, it is Compliment Your Chickens day!

So tell me, have you complimented your chickens today?

They (15 rir & 4 bronze turkeys) have lost their "cuteness", but are still cute because they're growing so darn fast and getting their real feathers. They'll be ready for the coop in a week.
So they are fun.

I have! Tammy laid an egg today (she's 7 years old and still lays an egg every other day spring-fall) and she was so proud. I'm always telling the chick-lets they're cute, so for them EVERYDAY is Complement Your Chickens Day.

two of my chickens are going through a hard molt. Not very pretty girls but I think I can muster up a complement for their eggs.

I dont have any chickens! Could I send a compliment to ya'lls chickens instead! I think when I finally get my chickens they will think a compliment is human talk!! They will be so spoiled!! I can't wait! (though I am not so sure about the BIG rooster DH is wanting! )
Hugz!

ROFLOL!!! I don't have chickens anymore, but I just had to peek at this thread. What a cute idea!

I think I'll go compliment a few horses, the dog, some cats and my one Pet Man.

I've heard chickens can live as long as 10 years.

Oh...I forgot to say...I have personally had chickens at least 8 years old..so I bet they DO live to be 10 with good circumstances.

My girls get daily compliments over what good layers they are. But one thing I noticed this weekend (we moved them into a new chicken house in a bigger field) is that they are amazing runners!! And so much fun to watch!

Keep Smiling.....Bev
