I had a goat named Sylvia who would have turned 14 in 17 days had to be put to sleep late last night. She has been on pain meds twice a day for her old age pains she was quite frail. It kept her walking and able to get up and down. The past 3 months I would find her down on her side unable to get up.Each time I found her down she would get worse....my daily routine was to check on her every 2 to 3 hours including during the night. This time she went down and broke her pelvic, we knew she was super frail. We new she would not heal it was a total seperation. She was put down at 10:30 last night and buried on the back of our property. It was a long teary night.

She was such a wonderful and best diary goat I have ever owned. I have 2 of her daughters here. She was a silver roan and just a sweetie. She had a really good and long life here and we were honered to have had her so many years. She was born here and was a triplet. RIP my sweet friend.
I am sad for the loss but happy we had her such a long time. Her one daughter Snackcake has some of the same roaning in her and has her sweet personality much like her mother but she is just a bigger doe.
I miss her so much already.

Linda, I'm so sorry for your loss. That is a wonderful photo of Sylvia, and it definitely portrayed her sweet personality. Blessings to you and your critters. Your love for them is so precious and I know they are aware of how much you care for them.

Linda,
So sorry to hear about Sylvia ... I know what it is like to be that dedicated. I just lost my Shetland ram lamb. It never gets any easier when you are so close to them. Take care my friend!

Thanks girls for all your support and heartfelt wishes. It means the world to me. I am doing okay and moving through the day.I keep wanting to go out and check on her and then it dawns on me she is not there. Its a habit that will take time to undo.
I received a package today from white sheep farm that really lifted my spirits. It was a package of homemade items that Teri made. I had entered her contest and actually won something for the first time in my life. So it has made my day alot brighter. It couldn't have come at a better time.

Sherry I sure do appreciate you very much and wish you could come and visit. That would be such a treat. But I have you here in spirit. Thankyou.

Kristin I do have patience when it comes to animals. I will do what it takes no matter what sometimes at my own expense. Sometimes it just wears me out but I keep on keeping. Sometimes I don't know how I do what I do sometimes except my deep love for animals. I think the Lord put that in me and thats why I am able to do it.

Oh, Linda. Your heart sure is heavy this month. I'm so sorry for the loss of Sylvia, I know how you love your goats. Fourteen years with you as a mom was sure a special gift, though. I hope you hold her memory dear and make a home for many other amazing creatures as tribute.

Linda, she did have a great life with you. You are amazing, the patience and love you have for your animals. Don't know if I could have done that. You did all you could for her and I'm sure she knew that all along.
