Posted - Mar 20 2010 : 6:10:38 PM It's not a done deal yet, but I might be adopting a female lab mix from the local shelter. I always knew that if I adopted a male dog, I wanted to name him Timber. But, I'm having trouble thinking of a good, outdoorsy, woodsy kind of name for this pup. She is only two years old, so I figure she has plenty of time to get used to a new name (her current name is Susie, but growing up there a really mean girl in my neighborhood named Susie, so I'd rather not keep it). Any ideas?

Posted - Mar 27 2010 : 2:12:01 PM I think since you are Woodswoman, Cedar is a great name! I also think that Autumn is a good name for beautiful autumn colors in the New York trees?! Maybe!

Posted - Mar 21 2010 : 2:34:25 PM I love Labs. We have had a few over the years. One was Blue, one was Blue Girl, one was Parson(my husband was a pastor). I always wanted a dog and name it Dang It. My hubby thought it inappropiate since he was a pastor, for us to be yelling out the back door, "Dang it, come here!" I guess he had a point.

Posted - Mar 21 2010 : 10:29:19 AM How a bout - Willow, Ashley, Aspen, Lavender the Lab, Annie Oakley, Fern, Kate Moss,or Brook. I might suggest a walk in nature and see what she is attracted to - who knows she may give you her name right away.
After naming hundreds and hundreds of animals here at the farm - picking names can be a challenge but it usually comes to me. Good luck.
