Posted - Feb 16 2010 : 08:43:28 AM I'm thinking about getting an outdoor cat to help with a rodent problem but I like to let my chickens out to graze around. Do you think it would be a problem with a "barn" cat?

Posted - Feb 16 2010 : 6:25:40 PM We have four cats out at our stable and a whole flock of chickens. I have never seen them interact either negatively or positively. They just act like the other group doesn't exist.

Posted - Feb 16 2010 : 09:34:28 AM My cat hangs out with the chickens and plays with them. I have one cat who stalks my roo and annoys him on purpose. :) The other one is terrified of chickens, and stays away.

Posted - Feb 16 2010 : 09:14:30 AM I have more "barn cats" than chickens most of the time (cause people are always dumping them out here), and I've never had a problem with them bothering my chickens.

Posted - Feb 16 2010 : 09:09:44 AM Most cats will leave the chickens alone. They recognize that the chickens are usually bigger than them. I have never had any problems with mixing cars and chickens. MB
PS. Washington cats are too cool to chase a chicken. LOL
