Has anyone kept the feathers after butchering to use in pillows? If so how did you do it.

The "Saddle" (the long thin feathers just in front of the roosters tail) and neck feathers are ususally what is used for "Fly tying." I don't think any of the other feathers will work. But, you could always find out! ~~~ Tracy

Maybe not pillows but you can use them for lures for fishing.

Do you make your own pillows then? And is Alee right on her guess as to the stink and non stink?

I would assume it is because geese and ducks are water birds and so have a different composite to their feathers- differnt body oils and such. But that is just a guess.

Just out of curiousity, Miss Wilma....why do the chicken feathers smell, but not the goose or duck?
