Taking water out to the chicken studio every day, slopping it all over... was getting to be a pain.. So since I have only 3 layers right now... and the warming light is on & keeping it warm & toasty. I filled two plastic milk jugs with water and keep them in the coop. The light keeps it from freezing. Easy to fill the plastic water container when needed. and refil the jug on my return trip when i put them to bed.
Duh,...

I took a garden hose and buried it about 3 inches in my back yeard ( actually it was 2 hoses put together and then I hooked up a garden hose on both ends:). No one thought it would last a season. It's on it's 5 year. The only time I will dig it up is when it springs a leak and I bet it won't even be this year. I do unhook the end hoses and store them away. The underground one is on a hill so it drains it's self. If your land is flat just start with it buried 3" then go to 4 or 5 so it will also drain it's self.

Hope all your days are Sunnydays.

That is the plan Carol. and to the garden...when it really thaws....I think a hose will reach.. But right now the hoses are all put away & frozen.

Cheyl, can you have Clay put a water line out there...?

Kristin...know what you mean I used to have miles of hoses until my husband fixed me up something closer.

Isn't that great when we finally find a better way to do something? Now that's using the ole noggin, Cheryl.

I have hoses all over the place but they never seem to reach far enough. We need to go ahead and run a line from the pipe along the driveway for the garden that is just too far away. That way we can just put a faucet out there with hoses. One of these days.
