Thanks, we got them from a local farm, we have seen the parents for years and they are such great birds, we're glad to have them!!

Posted - Aug 27 2008 : 05:16:00 AM We had some leftovers yesterday from MOndays hatch at work and it took everything in me to not bring 'em all home! I have just about one of everything except for ornamental chickens but those are the ones that are so fun to watch! Hoping to add a couple of cherry eggers (Catalana's) next year to my flock. I also want to add Polish, Appenzellers, and a Barnevelder! My hubby is going to flip his lid!

When we got our shipment this year, I took the digital camera and placed it at the chick's level in their brooder box. Got some funny and very cute chick pictures. Was kind of tough though under a red lamp. Figured best to leave it on rather than blind the little ones w/ a flash. |

They were there for 48 hours and were making such a mess that out they went. I spent the next 48 cleaning up after them. We kept them in the shop for about a month before we put them out in the pen. Got our first egg yesterday!! |
