I understand the Date/Month/Year part, not the rest...heeeelllllp! I want to submit my request, but got an SQL error...how do I know if my request went through?

Posted - Jul 22 2010 : 8:21:27 PM Oh no problem, it's fine! I may not know anything about servers and such, but I do know how technology can go on the fritz, I'm a photography major! Just thought it might be a problem that hadn't been noticed yet and I like to give others a heads up. Thanks for the help, I'll give my submission another shot. Have a great week Kevin!

Posted - Jul 22 2010 : 4:27:42 PM Hi Heather,
Looks like we received your Buttoned Up intermediate badge but that's all. We were having some server issues and it was down for a few minutes. Most likely you were just "lucky" enough to submit during that time. Sorry about that, I think our tech guy forgot to leave an offering for the Server Fairies again.

Posted - Jul 22 2010 : 3:39:08 PM Hello! I am having a problem with the badge submission as well. I had one go through the other day, then I tried to submit one yesterday, it kept giving me the error which I'm including in the screenshot below. Then I tried this morning and I did get a confirmation page. But when I went to submit a second one it gave me the same error again. It may be on my end, I'm tech savvy but I am not html savvy, I just thought I'd let someone know what it was doing.

Looks like the last one I received from you was the Buttoned Up beginner on the 17th. Did you get a confirmation page when you submitted?

Posted - May 18 2010 : 09:30:16 AM Hi Betsy,
Unless you get the confirmation page then the submission didn't go through. I know the captcha code is a huge pain, it is case sensitive but it's usually all in caps anyway. Here's what the confirmation page will look like when your application goes through:

Posted - May 17 2010 : 4:51:40 PM I've been trying to submit an application for a merit badge, but don't get a confirmation page. The page just reverts back to the empty form. Hopefully I haven't submitted the same request three times!

Posted - Apr 19 2010 : 10:13:47 AM Hi Debra,
I checked the files and it looks like the last badges I got from you were back in August. After you submitted your badge did a confirmation page come up? If you didn't see one and just got a blank application page then your application didn't go through. It's usually because the captcha code (security code), at the bottom wasn't entered correctly. It can be kinda tricky sometimes, its case sensitive and if there's a character that looks like a capital "O" its actually a zero.
If the code is giving you problems you might want to write up your badge info in a word document then cut and paste onto the application page. That way if it doesn't go through you won't have to re-type all your information. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Posted - Mar 19 2010 : 10:13:50 AM I did 2 tests of the Merit Badge form just now - 1 w/o photo, 1 with - and they successfully went through. *Phew* That's good, because it's definitely not good if you're seeing SQL errors. Since the form is working now, I'm not sure what it means that you saw that particular error earlier; perhaps our website server was having temporary issues and the database was unavailable (SQL relates to the database). I do see 3 empty submissions - maybe those were your attempts, and those just didn't go through right. Please try submitting again in that regard.
As far as filling out the form, I'd say ignore the calendar popup - I've only had it work correctly for me once, and haven't had the time to see about correcting it (maybe I should just get rid of it for now - duh!). Just type your dates in, especially since you get the format. Not sure what you mean by the n's in the date prompt. Perhaps elaborate, please - the date fields should be blank, and clicking "Calendar" should just pop up a calendar (which doesn't work).
You'll know your request went through if you see a "Thank You" page. If you see anything else, it didn't. If you simply see the form get cleared, that means the letters from the image at the end (the CAPTCHA) didn't get typed in correctly. If you get an error, that mostly means I need to fix something; and it helps if I can get the whole wording of the error in order to fix or explain it. So, if you're able, send me the copied text or a screenshot, so that I can get that worked out for you, Annika. |
