I have two firewalls on my PC - Microsoft and Zone Alarm - and also have Google pop-up blocker and Ad-Aware(paid version). I have google pop-up blocker disabled for this forum but ever since I installed the paid version of Ad-Aware I've noticed that certain pop-ups come up momentarily, like 1/2 second, and then they disappear. Emailing other farmgirls from their member profile is one of these. Of course it could be entirely unrelated, as I joined MJF AFTER installing these programs.

I'm not willing to give these tools up completely because I have been a victim of identity theft and I am NOT going to let those creeps into my computer!

Any ideas on what happens within the forum email to trigger Ad-aware to think it is malicious? Or how to selectively turn this 'feature' off?

Thanks Clare! Good to know this solution!!

And Brenda, wave to Medina for me as you drive on by!

Carol,

Medina is "just up the road a piece" from here! I've passed through many times on the way to Cleveland.

Clare - I just tried your suggestion and it works! Thank you, thank you, thank you! And I used your email above to experiment on so you will see an email from me in your inbox shortly!

Hi Brenda.
I'm afraid I don't have any answers for you on that - I would suggest you look on the Ad-Aware website to see if there are any answers there, or a tech support link for asking questions about their software. The e-mail members feature does use a pop-up window, so that could be triggering the alert.

I'm glad to see another Ohio farmgirl on our forum -- I'm a Medina native, but have been here in Idaho for many, many years. Miss those beautiful Ohio farms, though!

Good luck, Brenda!
