Posted - Mar 19 2009 : 8:55:18 PM Another great webhost is www.sustainablewebhoting.com They use solar and wind power to power the servers that host the sites. They are $100 for a year (so a little over $8 a month) or if you just pay month to month like me it is $10.

Posted - Mar 19 2009 : 08:55:24 AM Hi Tina -
I am new at this too and someone suggested www.geocities.com - turn on page builder and just follow the wizard --- then expand from there. It is user friendly and it is FREE! (This is my site on geocities: http://geocities.com/greenszy/Boutique.html |

Posted - Mar 08 2009 : 7:59:20 PM I do some professional web design for a few folks around our town. Like some of the girls above, I recommend Macromedia Dreamweaver and the compatible Fireworks (Photoshop). It takes some time to feel your way around the programs, but they really are quite fantastic, and they offer you the most flexibility.
My secondary recommendation would be to use Microsoft FrontPage 2003. I ONLY recommend this if you have a fear of learning new programs that look pretty complex. FrontPage significantly limits what you can do, which can be extremely frustrating if you're trying to get a streamlined-tech savvy-highly visual site.
Also, bluehost.com is one of the best webhosts on the web. They are streamlined and easy to use. I am currently using them for four sites. The break down is about $6.00 a month if you pay for two years. They offer fantastic customer support as well.
I wish you the best of luck. I know how frustrating this can be! If you have any questions, email me!

the template monster templates are pretty tricky to use, I recommend that you know photoshop and dreamweaver pretty well. You have to slice them in photoshop then transfer to dreamweaver.

Posted - Mar 06 2009 : 06:57:58 AM Many pros use templates:
http://www.templatemonster.com http://www.templatesintime.com/default.asp http://www.boxedart.com
Or you can get templates through whom ever you have host your site.
If you have never built one you might take an online class here: http://www.lvsonline.com/index.shtml
They are very affordable and I have learned much from them, they have a beginning dreamweaver class.

Posted - Feb 09 2009 : 8:55:43 PM I use Dreamweaver for my site. I think it's best to design/build it yourself because you'll need to know how to fix it when it crashes - and that "will" happen at some point. You don't need to know how to write html code with the newer software. If you run into trouble, you can always hire a computer person at a local college.
Good Luck
