I know it's early to be thinking about Fall Holidays but that's what has been on my mind...I love the beautiful colors and the quietness of the season...seems as if everything starts slowing down in the Fall...I will probably go through my Fall decorations in the next week or so and see if I need anything more...absolutely love to decorate for Fall...inside and out...

I would love other farm girls thoughts and ideas on Fall Holidays and decorating for the season:)::)

Please post pictures if you have any...

Hugs!

Judy

Connie, this old vintage picture reminds me of what we all looked like in the First Grade!! It is very hard to eat an apple swinging on an string!! I also remember hanging little donuts from a string a various heights as a game. You think it is going to be easy but then the thing just swings away! LOL!! Almost time to light the pumpkin here. It has been a beautiful cool and breezy day for us and a delightful change from the usual hot and humid weather we have on Halloween!!

Winnie your pumpkin is beautiful! I can almost smell it too. I have never thought about adding cinnamon to the inside. Happy Halloween.

Last night I carved out my pumpkin and cooked up some of the meat to use in recipes. I tried it out last night with a candle to see how it will look on Halloween. Pretty cute, I say!! Of course it posted wonky again but hey that is the "Trick" part of Trick or Treat!

I rubbed the inside with some ground cinnamon which helps give it a nice scent as the candle warms it up. Today, I am making a recipe for some Pumpkin Scones with Maple Cinnamon glaze that I found online using the cooked and pureed pumpkin meat I scooped out of the pumpkin before I carved the face.

Picnic in the mountains about three weeks ago in the aspens which were dropping their leaves. My hubby said if we sat there long enough, which wouldn't be terribly long, we'd be covered. Bramble was laying by my chair and this aspen leaf softly landed on her head.

I'm so happy - the orchard opened and I have 4 gallons of apple cider in my freezer, one already gone, and another in my fridge :) I do have a cider press on my "one day" list though Winnie. There's a lot of stuff on there. A new farm is first though. Then the orchard, then the press :) I'm sad to report I didn't get any apple pie filling made. The box of apples I bought was bad. They were full of bug holes and all brown on the inside. I didn't feel like they were very safe to can and give away.

Tomorrow hubby and I are going to an apple butter festival. We've never been to it before, but my MIL say's it's worth the drive. Hopefully the rain hold off. It's supposed to be 36 tonight and 62 with showers tomorrow.

Love the pictures everyone. Right around here it's not so colorful. The leaves just look rusty. But, we went to town the other day and there are some colors starting to pop out. It's definitely been fall weather. Harvest is going slow due to little rain showers that keep popping up, but the crops are slowly disappearing.

Well, I need to finish supper and get another glass of cider :)

Thank you ladies for the wonderful words of wisdom, peace and inspiration. The pictures of the moon, leaves and pumpkins gave me such pleasure. I live in the woods so am anxious to get some leaves and put together the Modge Podge luminaries. We do crafts every Sunday after a family dinner. Fall is our favorite time to do this.

Blessings
