I know it's early to be thinking about Fall Holidays but that's what has been on my mind...I love the beautiful colors and the quietness of the season...seems as if everything starts slowing down in the Fall...I will probably go through my Fall decorations in the next week or so and see if I need anything more...absolutely love to decorate for Fall...inside and out...

I would love other farm girls thoughts and ideas on Fall Holidays and decorating for the season:)::)

Please post pictures if you have any...

Hugs!

Judy

Judy- I am currently in Galcier National Park and will be heading west for the rest of my vacation . Depending on where I am , the wifi or phone service gets iffy but I will be back August 3 and ready to dig into More Fall dreaming and scheming !!! This morning it was 49 degrees here in Glacier and it felt like heaven !! Oh that crisp air and warmth of my long sleeves and jeans felt so wonderful!!! It will be November before we see days like that in Florida so Iwas soaking it in .

We can all start sharing more in August as the school year gears up and some people start getting some cool mornings here and there.

Thanks for setting this idea up and you can count on me to share!!!

Judy,
Don't know what part of KY. you are in, but it really does not start showing any color in my area until almost late Oct. but with the lack of rain this year that will be different. I start dreaming of fall in July, right after the 4th!
I have a compost, so everything goes in and already a few volunteer pumpkins and a few gourds have ripened showing that beautiful orange color we all love so much! Cool here this morning and it feels so good after week of hot, humid weather! Maybe fall will come early this year.

A few of my volunteers!

Have seen fall leaf garlands and fall flowers and fall shelf critters in the Dollar Tree. It is cool here 70's and it is putting me in the mood to decorate for fall. My favorite season. There a lot of back to school ads right now.

Farmgirl friends are fun.

Connie, love these Fall moons! Seriously beautiful. Also , those mode pudge mason jars are totally adorable. They would make fantastic Thanksgiving table luminaries . It has been in the low 50s here in Glacier Park and I love those hours of cool. However, it has heated up to the upper 80s every day I have been here so that is a bummer. The locals , however , can't get enough of the hot weather because they have so many months of really cold stuff. Me, I can't even imagine their winters. I am pretending it is Fall here when I sit on the porch and drink some coffee early in the morning!!! Lol!

Fall is my favorite season! However, I'm not ready for it yet because I want more veggies from my garden which had a slow start. It has been BLAZING HOT, hotter than normal for this area, for the past week and half, so that would be one reason to wish fall along. Finally, today we had a cooler day with some DESPERATELY needed rain (got rain last night as well).
The southwest part of the USA is hurting . . .seriously hurting . . . with drought situations!

I love the pictures.!! oh fall. I enjoy the colors the crisp air, hot tea, warm fires. its has been cool the last several nights I believe 50 last night, and I have noticed how clear the air is. Our local stores are putting out fall items. I am off to look at fall items today. I try to decorate as natural as possible but I do use fall leaf garland to keep a bright color during the season. And the local farmer friend laughs when I call to ask when I can bring the truck for a load of corn stocks.! The luminaries, are they hard to make?

Enjoying reading all the posts and seeing the pictures. Fall is my favorite time of the year too, and I really like decorating for it. I like it so much the stuffed scarecrows live with me all year long. One sits in a kitchen corner on a crock churn - the other on a shelve over washer & dryer. Stuffed & ceramic pumpkins stay out all year too.

I will start my fall decorating in a couple of weeks by hanging the sunflower, yellow painted grapevine wreath on my front door. Little by little I will add things until by Oct. 1st it's all done.

Hint: You can revive last year's grapevine wreath by painting it a color to match the season or accent color for it's surroundings.

Walk in Peace.
Live with Joy.
