Posted - Aug 02 2008 : 10:15:32 PM Is anyone ready for Fall? I am getting in the mood for mums and pumpkins and all the wonderful things that Autumn brings. If you are interested in an exchange of gifts (do not have to be homemade, can be dollar store or thrift shop etc)let me know by sending me an email with your name and address. How about a cut-off date of October 15th - that way we can include some Halloween things too if we like. Kathy of the Enchanted Wood

Posted - Nov 16 2008 : 10:06:59 PM Just to let my partner know you are not forgotten, I have some things to send you. Things have been rough going here - real rough and I am just starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel - my husband lost his license and then got caught driving on the revoked list, then he is supposed to have laser ablation heart surgery - my fibro is kicking my ass and *sigh* I am just picking myself up and dusting off and starting over once again. I hope you understand.

Posted - Oct 19 2008 : 8:23:15 PM I'm glad you like your box, Dawn. I had so many things I wanted to add in, but was trying to keep it all in that box! :) I use the 'armchair thingy' instead of hotpads. It's the style my mom always used and it makes sure that you always have two when you need them and you don't drop them into the casserole or one slides away from you as soon as you grab the hot pan. I don't know if she made it (the pattern) up, or what, but I've never been happy with single 'traditional' hotpads after I used this style for so long. :) Hope it works for you, too. Happy Harvest!

Posted - Oct 19 2008 : 11:21:46 AM Thanks Laura for the prayers. He has been saying they get on each other's nerves lately. Their time to come home is soon and I think they are all so anxious. They will be approx another 3 weeks...after being there for 9 months. I'm lighting candles and saying extra prayers today for them.

Posted - Oct 18 2008 : 5:33:01 PM Georgeann! I love my box of fall thins! First of all, thank you for the scarf. It is made (I think) using my favorate kind of yarn. My family and I loved all the food stuffs. I suprised my girls with some of the pop rocks and didn't tell them what they do. The look on their faces was PRICElESS. I went to a party today and took the paper goods to add to the festivity.
Thank you so much. I have had a great time with this trade!

Posted - Oct 18 2008 : 3:12:42 PM I got this big wonderful box of fall/Halloween things and I forgot that I was in this swap! LOL I hadn't subscribed to the topic! I used the member search and found Laura....who sent me the pkg. and that's when I knew she was a farmgirl.
Sometimes we get things from the Angels of soldiers because my son and I are the family of a soldier serving in the war.
Then when I realized Laura is a farmgirl I knew I must have missed a swap. LOL I have her address and can get her box out to her. Thanks Laura for all the WONDERFUL surprises! It's like orange fall colors around here now! Linda

Posted - Oct 17 2008 : 6:51:41 PM Kathie,
Your package came on 10/15 and I put yours in the mail on the 16th. When I went out to check the mail I saw a box that was so large-I couldn't imaagine what or who it was from. When I saw the name I knew right away. The scarecrow wreath is adorable. I stuck him right up at our side door. He looks very happy there-like he always belonged right on that spot! My nextdoor neighbor is already asking me where it/he came from and can she get one too?
Thanks again-it was a nice surprise and just the lift I needed, Bonnie Farmgirl Sister #333 |

Posted - Oct 14 2008 : 09:18:34 AM Annika, I am glad everything got to you safe and sound. I ment to put a note in the box. I later found it in my sewing room. If you havent done so already, take everything out of the basket. The netting is not a safe thing around fire. Place the candle holder in center of basket. Try your best to fit all the pinecones and stuff around the candle holder. I wanted to make a little piggy but could not get it right. I hope you like the chicken. She was cold so I put a mini scarf on her. Well, I am glad you like everything. And take your time. Its more fun when you dont expect it!
