Posted - Dec 15 2007 : 08:49:14 AM I love the old classic movies, and wondered what the rest of you like to watch for Christmas. It's a Wonderful Life is my favorite, but I sure would like to watch some that I've never seen.

Posted - Dec 18 2007 : 2:58:07 PM I am so glad someone has asked this, I had planned to come on and recommend our favorite: "A House Without A Christmas Tree" with Jason Robards, 1972. It's a heart warming story. Now a close second is "A Charlie Brown Christmas" for sure, I never tire of watching any of CB movies. It wasn't until we watched the special on Charles Schultz did we really understand what they were about. Some of the old movies mentioned I 'actually saw' when they came out in the theaters! White Christmas with Bing Crosby I saw in Boston when I was a young girl.
Christmas should have been my middle name, I love everything about it.....Hannah |

Posted - Dec 18 2007 : 10:57:58 AM I'd have to go with "It's a Wonderful Life", "White Christmas" and "The Christmas Story" in no particular order...just depends on how I'm feeling at the time. Sharon

Posted - Dec 18 2007 : 10:13:08 AM Charlie Brown Xmas..cause Snoopy is the coolest, & LOVE Linus's speech & any of those goofy movies Lifetime shows taking place in a small town with neat old farmhouses, a sense of community & LOTS of snow. Don't know any of their names cause there really is no plot to mention.. Just love the small town settings, farmhouses & SNOW.. Oh & I also love to watch Midnight Mass-I always wrap presents during this

Posted - Dec 18 2007 : 06:23:11 AM I think that "Christmas Story" is my favorite. It's so close to the realities of my childhood.....for escaping to that wonderful world of Hollywood I like "Holiday Inn", "Christmas In Connecticut" and "Miracle on 34th. Street". I also like to watch "Meet John Doe". Aside from loving Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck(best clothes in the movies). The hope and good old American spirit in that one makes me feel good.

Posted - Dec 15 2007 : 11:16:37 AM I love National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, too! The year that it came out, we had a terrible ice storm and our furnace went out, so we got to go to a hotel in Nashville the night before Christmas Eve because it was too cold to be in our house, and my whole family went to see it in the theater. Now, every year when we get together we watch it. I think I know every line. ;) |
