Hey y'all!

God has been good! You may remember the drama involving our bi-polar daughter and the hot mess they were living in? Well, I did call social services and got his command involved. That was back in October. Since then its been a complete turn around. Their marriage is stronger, the kids are now in a happy place emotionally. They are expecting number 5 in August. He will be getting out of the Marine Corp and has a job with the FAA lined up. They will be moving to Indiana.

Best of all is that she is now on medication and is being weened off the medication!!! She is or will be in a substance abuse program because "I just can't do this anymore, I want a better life for me and my family."

Her life won't be easy but she has learned that its better to make changes on your own than to have an outside agency to come in and make changes for you. Thank God it didn't have to go that far. She is still scarred from what is seen as my betrayal but in time she will get over it and deal with it. I'm not worried. It was the wake up call she needed, THEY needed.

Just wanted to share the wonderful news with you all!

Tracy,
I have remembered your situation and wondered how things were going since March. I'm praying for you and the whole family. Thanks to God you are there for the little ones. I'm also praying for your daughter that she can get things together, but for now the kids need you! Try to rest when you can, a brood of little ones is a big responsibility! But I believe God is watching out for them by putting them in your care.
Hugs,
Susan

Tracy I'm praying for you and your husband as you make the transition back into parenting very little children. I can't say I have any idea what you're going through, but my husband works in mental health, actually with bi-polars and schizophrenics so I know it must be very difficult. The situation is anything but ideal, but it's so good that the 2 of you are able to take your grandchildren! It's the saddest thing when children are placed with strangers. I'm praying that at the hearing they decide to leave the children with you. It sounds like the best thing for them.

Oh Tracy! Most definitely praying that's God's Hand is on this situation and His will is done! I cannot even begin to imagine how stressful it must be! And those poor kiddos! I can somewhat understand the craziness of your life with all the kids (ours are 11, 8.5, 7, 5, 3, and 15 mo), but oy! Will definitely be lifting all of you, including your daughter, up to our faithful Father!

New update.

We have all five kids right now. DSS came in and removed the newborn. Two weeks after she gave birth her husband assaulted her. That was on a Sunday, that Monday the police report came across the desk at DSS so they paid a visit. She was not at her best, having been assaulted and having a bunch of things coming home to roost at one time. She was in shock. She didn't cooperate with the worker who then felt the need to remove the baby (three days later) on Friday. My granddaughter spent the week with a foster family. We had the older four children with us already so they didn't do an emergency order for them.

Now we have five children 6, 4, 2, 18 months and 5 weeks. I'm 46 and hubby is 54. In the midst of all this, we moved for the first time in 18 years.

The merits hearing is on 21 October and then they will decide if the kids will stay with us or go back. Honestly, they just need to stay with us.

I'll be posting in other forums because I need to get back into this "homemaking with littles mode!"

My prayers go with your family, and I pray that they will become better soon, and your daughter will realize that her situation was bad and you love her is why you did what you did.

Thank you ladies for your encouragement and prayers! The prayers of the righteous...

On another front, we are seriously considering removing the oldest from school. He's had some emotional upheaval that is being addressed but he's been labeled already. They don't take into account that all they are doing is busywork. He's bored out of his mind. He wants to be home. The fact that he wants to be home, with his parents or with us tells us that school is not the environment he needs to be in. He's really bright and sensitive and performed all the little jumping through the educational hoops and tests but he will be labeled as a problem child and for Black American boys, its a sentence for educational failure. So please pray that God's will be revealed and we are (as a complete family unit) open to his will. We've homeschooled before so its not a problem but with this new pregnancy and 4 kids and hubby's work schedule being so flexible (not in their favor) and me trying to find employment, a way needs to be made.
