We have been looking for acreage "up north" in michigan, lower side of "The Bridge" west or east side of the state either one...Does anyone know of anything for sale near them or at least "up north"? I'd really appreciate any leads or info you can share. Thanks!

boy if you want to sell something you don't tell people to wait till spring.. but I will certainly say some prayer for you. that is always a good idea. so let me know if things change after Christmas....

we made an offer it came back with a note that they wouldn't sell right now less than asking but, maybe in the spring when they get back form arizona they'd think about lowering the price...So we said we'd do the asking ...now they want time to think about what to do with the things in the house(we were told when we looked at the house the family had already taken what they wanted and unless the purchaser didn't want the things left they'd stay...which we are fine with)
Our realtor thinks it's a combination of the listing agent not really pushing to get the house sold as the seller(executor) is out of state and difficult to connect with right now and maybe being more concerned with the holidays.Me I'm getting frustrated because I want to be able to close by mid january or the end at the latest and the inspections etc...have to be done first. So booooo.... : P
If you want I'd appreciate prayers that the seller says everything can stay as is on the contract and lets do it instead of waiting ,which keeps coming up...as in waiting till they come back from arizona in the "spring" ....Our realtor knows we don't want to wait and may walk away...I don't want to do that but,I do want to get moved.

Sorry it took my so long to respond my dad had a heart attack and so I have been downstate and not on the computer. I have only cooked on our regular woodstove like soup and chili and stuff like that so actually cooking on a wood cook stove sorry I can't help you with that but there are links online that talk about it so I am sure if you do a search you will find a lot of info. the chicken show is every august I beleive. I will find the link and get it to you. Have a Merry Christmas and let me know if you got the property or not. would love another farm girl sorta close. oh yea I don't know if you want to get into learning spinning but they have a spinning guild right in mio at one of the churches, If you want more info I can get that for you too...I have been thinking of joining it in the spring ...

If you are used to cooking on your wood stove would(wood...lol!)you be willing to give some basic lessons to me if we get the house? There's a real nice 6-8 burner stove there already : D
When do they do the chicken show and sale in Frankenmuth? Do you remember? I know there's not 10 acres and I wish there was but,the property is everything I wanted except that and a pond!
Beverley Posted - Dec 08 2011 : 5:13:08 PM
oh yea they have a big chicken show and sale once a year in frankenmuth. You probably will find a lot of the kinds of chickens you would be looking for or if you mail order chicks they come and you can pick them up at your post office. I got some that way and they were just fine. I had chickens for a while and I really enjoyed them. I probably will have some more again in the future..

OOOO I like it.. yea that is in between mio and rose city. Nice!!! Didn't find a 10 acre place but that sounds like it has everything you wanted... we use our wood stove to cook somethings but we don't have one big enough to cook everything. There was a blog online that was talking about doing that maybe I can find the link and send it to you. That is a good price too.. Hope you get it!!!

I want to have a few chickens to start(heirloom if possible...with different colored eggs and good layers and mommas)other than that right now I'm not sure. The house in on realtor.com ...Here's the link... http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/61-Zimowske-Rd_Mio_MI_48647_M32588-90756 ...The offer was sent to the listing agent today so they have till the 11th to get back to us...so by Sunday or Monday we should know if they except the offer! I hope so...the house is cute and does need a little bit of work but, mostly painting...minus a couple things...and truth be told I like this one better anyway! Do you know anything about cooking on a wood stove? I want to and need to learn...

I am too but,the seller is determined to get the asking price or very close to it and by the time they add the sellers consession, which is 6% of selling price to what she countered with it ended up being more than the asking price. Oh,and although that 6% does come back to us to pay our closing costs it's suppose to be paid by the seller not us which in fact it was going to be,since it was being added in to our morgage....So though we wanted the house and were willing to do the work on it we decided that we weren't going to get bullied into it.There's a little more to it having to do with the realtor we dealt with on it too. Anyway it's the second time they've had an offer less than asking(you'd think that would get them thinking about the asking price) so maybe the next person will actually be allowed to purchase it!Anyway we went on to the other house we really liked...it's in Mio. How far does that end up being from you?Maybe we can still have that tea ...if this offer gets excepted... :)

Tustin is west of sears( sears is east of Hersey)--from sears -there probly is a "back way" but the most direct would be go west on 10 thru reed city to 131(that's i think about exit 153???) --131 north to exit 168--turn right and tustin is right there- i am almost 2 miles up from the main road which is church street or 20 mile road....i work on church street so i am 2 minuutes from work!

i am SURE there is another way (66 north to 115 west to 20 mile west to my road) but it might confuse you til you get up here-

i'm with beverly-is there an online link for the house/farm????

Margo,where is Tustin from Sears?
We are going to see if we can get an Rural developemnet loan...our FHA won't work I guess...so it's that(which I don't know much about) or conventional. It needs a little work but, that's ok.
Twenty minbutes would be great....Beverly,how far is it from where you are?
Penny Wise Posted - Nov 06 2011 : 06:07:10 AM
sears isn't too terribly far from me!-20 minutes- half hour- well- less than an hour... keeping fingers crossed for you!

Actually we went and looked at a farm again today and we're going to try to get approved for a Rural Development Loan(we have FHA but,the realtor says that won't work)so if we can get that it would be great ..otherwise we'll have to do conventional.I'm excited!
