Posted - Sep 04 2008 : 6:11:52 PM Here's a photo of my farm from early this spring....my old, rusty roofed barn, the American flag waving proudly, my Belgium Draft horse, Jack, grazing on the sweet spring grass, buttercups beginning to bloom, the creek sparkling in the early morning light... happiness is found here every morning and every night!

If it doesn't work...tell me. we'll try again!

Posted - Sep 26 2008 : 1:16:33 PM I never considered Mississippi because of the hurricanes. I'd be happy to learn more about the land, though.
I have used that quote for years as my philosophy of life but it's not from me. I'm sorry but I have no idea where it came from. It is lovely!

Posted - Sep 26 2008 : 10:53:06 AM And, Nancy...I forgot to tell you...
I love your saying: I've wept in the night for... The first time I read it I got tears in my eyes~ Is it yours or a quote from another?

Posted - Sep 26 2008 : 10:49:11 AM Nancy, I'm in love with this place. I guess it shows! I'm always snapping photos and taking video of the critters and the land. I hope it doesn't seem like I'm being overly... No, the previous owners built the dam behind the house, and we always have the waterfall sound, but after a nice rain...it just roars! I'd love to have a mill! Have you ever considered living in Mississippi? I might know just the place!

Posted - Sep 26 2008 : 05:10:04 AM Glory...you are living in my idea of Heaven! Hubby and I are looking for a spot of land with a creek, trees, a space for a large garden and a small home. Darn, you already own it!
The dam on your property looks like one from an old mill. Was there ever a mill on your property? One of our hobbies is traveling around the country looking at old mills and mill sites. My husband would like to own one when he retires.
We are looking for propergy in Tennessee, Kentucky or West Virginia, even north Georgia. If you hear of any like your homestead, please drop me a line.
Nancy

Posted - Sep 26 2008 : 01:01:01 AM Oh wow.....I knew I was a country girl at heart.......I fell in love with these pictures. Glory has been richly blessed by God. WOW.
Well off to New Delhi India for me.....a different type of venture. The back yard is spacious with a bent over gardenia tree...the front yard having a jasmine tree. And there is plenty of open area to take walks on the property without going out into the busy city, if I choose. Thanks Glory for showing us your beautiful photos.

Posted - Sep 23 2008 : 6:25:33 PM I hiked back there and snapped a couple of photos this evening. It was getting a little dusky...but here they are~ Jack and Emmie look like they're posing! Except Emmie is sticking out her tongue... That's a faraway shot from the back pasture, and also my favorite spot in the creek...

Posted - Sep 22 2008 : 5:31:59 PM Thanks for all the kind words! I try to make it welcoming and a place I always want to come home to. It's where I want to be ALL the time! Beverley with an e...Come pitch a tent anytime! I'm going to tromp down to the back pasture in my muck boots tomorrow (my husband got them for me at my request for my birthday and I LOVE them!), with my camera in hand and snap a photo of one of my favorite places here...a quiet place..a lovely scene of the creek... with mossy huge rocks, a slow, steady drip of water falling from the bluff above down into a still "lagoon" and hopefully, Jack, my Belgian will follow me (he usually does...hoping for an apple!), and he will peer down through the trees at me, and I can snap him too! He's one of my favorite photo subjects!
